Mr. Carlos Escalante

Mr. Carlos Narvez Escalante gained his heavenly wings on Friday, December 13, 2024.  Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, January 4, 2025, 2:00 p.m. at St. John Cathedral Church, 3401 Bishop Eddie Newkirk Way, Tampa, FL 33605 with Pastor Dwight Newkirk, Officiating. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery, 4615 E. Hanna Avenue, Tampa, FL 33610.

Carlos was born on August 22, 1976, to Mary Shaw Escalante and the Late Rickey R. Escalante.  He was a graduate of the Hillsborough County Public Schools.

Carlos was preceded in death by: his father, Rickey R. Escalante; grandson, Jeremiah Joshua Escalante; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Olegario Antonio (Susie Lee William) Escalante, and Willie Walter Shaw; great grandparents, Will and Lena Williams, Jessie and Missouri Ingram Jacob, Homer Shaw, and Ambrosia and Tomas Sofia Escalante; and uncles, Antonio, George, and Roosevelt Escalante.

Carlos leaves to cherish fond memories: his sons, Judea, Carlos (CJ) and Te”Carry Escalante of Nashville, TN; daughters,  Sunsare Escalante, Brittanna Escalante of Oldsmar, FL, and Ceyani Jackson Daughtry (Ezonti) of Burlington, NC; granddaughter, Chaylianna Cox Escalante, of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; mother, Mary Shaw Escalante; brother, Eric Ramone Escalante; grandmother, Letitia Davis Shaw; niece, Erika Escalante; God brother, Malachi Jenkins;  God Sisters, Ariel Thomas, Courtney Wright of Miami, FL, Jimirra Matia of Cleveland Heights, OH and Taraji Harrell;  uncles, Walter Lee Shaw (Junneth), Benjamin Shaw (Misty), Shawn Shaw, Sherrod Shaw, Willie Escalante (Joy), Frank Escalante (Rita) of Mitchellville, MD, and Joseph Escalante (Tanya) of Orlando, FL; aunts, Lashanski Shaw, Nicole Shaw Davis (Ronnie) and Carla Shaw Gainer(Tallie III), Virginia Escalante, Kathy HiSmith Escalante and Gloria Thompson Escalante; close cousins, Jermaine Escalante, Austin, TX, Dr. Roosevelt (Skipper) Escalante, Alexis Escalante, Telisha Thompson and Kawahana (Kay-Kay) Swain; a host of special families and friends including his Nashville Family and friends, Dontavious Jones employer and friend, Church mother, Pastor Shirley Lanier, Tallie II and Florence Gainer, and Lola Johnson; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, classmates, co-workers, church Family, and other extended family and friends.

A visitation will be held Friday, January 3, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Ray Williams Funeral Home, 301 N. Howard Avenue, Tampa, FL, 33606.
