Mr. Charles Edward Kinsey

Mr. Charles Edward Kinsey of Tampa, FL passed away on Sunday, November 17, 2024.  The Homegoing Celebration will be held on Saturday, November 30, 2024, 2:00 p.m. at Ray Williams Memorial Chapel, 301 North Howard Avenue, Tampa, FL 33606 with Reverend Jacquelyn Dennis, officiating.  The interment will occur on Monday, December 2, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. in Florida National Cemetery, 6502 S.W. 102nd Ave, Bushnell, FL 33513.  

Mr. Kinsey was a native of Tampa, FL.  He received his education in Hillsborough County Schools, graduating from Howard W. Blake High School in 1963.  Upon graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Army where he served with honor and dignity for 17 years. He later married Dorothy Kinsey.  To the union, one child was born.  Charles was a top-notch military recruiter, and he was known for his ability to relate to young people, supporting and facilitating their entrance into the army.  At an early age, he gave his life to Christ and joined Spring Hill Missionary Baptist Church.

Mr. Kinsey was preceded in death by: his parents, Azzie Kinsey and Nellie B. Kinsey; two sisters, Earlene Walters and Vivian Hill; three brothers, Norris Kinsey, Sr., Fred Kinsey, and Azzie Vaughn Kinsey; and two nephews, Charles Kinsey and Reche Kinsey.

He leaves to cherish loving memories with: his loving daughter, Torrey  Kinsey; stepdaughter, Carita “Holly” Kinsey; stepson, Marcus Brown; granddaughter, Aaliyah Alexis Senat;  two sisters, Gloria K. Fordham (Walter, Jr.), and Carolene K. Greenaway; two nieces, Sandra Hayes, and Courtney Kinsey; eleven nephews, Norris Kinsey, Jr., Karl Kinsey (Vesta), Anthony Kinsey (Shonda), Walter Fordham III (Lynn), Kerry Fordham, Brian Fordham (Tionis), Ronald Burgess, Ralph Hill, Jr. (Shaletha), Jeremy Kinsey and Franklyn Greenaway, Jr.; twenty great nieces, Odyssey Kinsey, Dawanna Hayes, Doris Hayes, LeBreau Kinsey, Tyra Kinsey, Mia Kinsey, Ki’Era Kinsey, Kayla Kinsey, Kaitlyn Kinsey, Rachel Fordham, Brianna Fordham, Trinity Fordham, Taylor Fordham, Keirah Fordham, Ashley Kinsey, Niomi Burgess, Mariah Burgess, Amber Burgess, Sianne Hill and Nyla Hill; eight great nephews, Javon Kinsey, Sidney Hayes, Kajuan Kinsey, Walter Fordham IV, Ashton Fordham, Ian Fordham, Ronald Burgess, Jr., and Jaden Burgess; a cousin, Ellen Kinsey, who enjoyed a brother/sister relationship with him;  a special friend, Norma Gail Reese; and a host of other mournful relatives and devoted friends. 

A Visitation will be held on Friday, November 29, 2024, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Ray Williams Funeral Home, 301 N. Howard Avenue, Tampa, FL 33606.
