Mr. Charlie Will Scott Jr. Obituary

Our beloved brother and uncle, Charlie Will Scott Jr., affectionately known as “Pop”, transitioned to his Heavenly home on Wednesday, February 14, 2024.  A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, February 26, 2024, 11:00 a.m. at Ray Williams Memorial Chapel, 301 N. Howard Avenue, Tampa, FL 33606.

Charlie Will Scott Jr., affectionately known as “Pop” was born in Tampa, Florida to the union of Charlie Bud Scott, Sr., and Rosa Mae Brown on April 6, 1953.  Charlie received his education through the Hillsborough County School System, where he was well known as “Tweety”.  He graduated from Howard W. Blake High School Adult Program.  He was employed by the Tampa Ice Palace.

In 1997 he moved to New York City, NY.  After a short stay in New York, he became ill and returned to Tampa to be near family and friends.  Charlie was well known in the West Tampa area, where he was born, raised, and attended school.  His favorite location to be out among his many friends was the Main Street area.

He leaves to cherish fond memories of him: his devoted sister, Delores “Dee” Williams; seven nephews, Deacon Lonnie Jackson Jr., Kenneth Blanchett, Cedric Jackson, Geoffery K. Brown, Ricky J. Bell, Rev Jay Jackson (Lisa), and Michael Brown; seven nieces, Theodora Brown, Columbia, SC, Antionette Shephard, Rhonda Jackson, Quie R. Small, Columbia, SC, Vivian Jackson, Adriane Y. Blanchett, and Twanda Jackson; cousins, Della Coleman, Oakland, Calif, Michael Coleman (Tasha), Ronald Coleman, Flora Dawson, Agnes Judge, Vicky Byron, Remington Shephard (Linda), and Douglas Shiggs (Brenda); and a host of great nephews and nieces.

A special appreciation to the staff at Palm Avenue Baptist Towers, ALF.
