Mr. Darrell Craig “DJ” London II of Tampa, FL passed away on Monday, April 24, 2023. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, May 12, 2023, 2:00 p.m. at Ray Williams Memorial Chapel, 301 N. Howard Avenue, Tampa, FL 33606. MASK RECOMMENDED.
On November 18, 1980, Mr. Darrell Craig “DJ” London II was born to the union of Debra Hickmon and Darrell C. London, in Tampa, FL. Darrell was a resident of Tampa for 42 years. He attended the public schools of Hillsborough County of Tampa, FL receiving his General Education Diploma. He later attended Hillsborough Community College pursuing an Electrical Apprenticeship Certificate. Darrell held a variety of jobs in Tampa and Lakeland, FL, with his greatest employment opportunities being in the Electrical field.
In life, DJ was a very giving person of the slight that he had. So, it’s very fitting that he chose to be an organ donor. In his passing, he was able to give “the gift of a better quality of life” to those who received his organ donations. It was said by hospital staff “that his HEART was GOOD” and meets all stringent qualifications for transplantation. So today, “his heart still beats on” on this time side of life in the chest of his recipient. In addition to his GOOD heart, donors also received his lungs, liver, and kidneys.
DJ was preceded in death by: his father, Darrell London; maternal grandparents, David and Johnnie Louise Haley; paternal grandparents, Richard London and Iradean London-Biggs; step-grandparents, Otis Sr. and Jean Cole; aunts, Sandra Zeigler, and Mary Ford; uncle, Alonzo Hickmon, Jr.; and step-uncle, Michael Cole.
He leaves to cherish his memories: his parents, Debra and Otis Cole; brother, Devin (Maranna) Cole, of Raleigh, NC; aunts, Sarah Russell, Shirley (Zell) Marshall, Linda (Allan) Watson, David (Laura) Hickmon, and Carolyn Brooks, all of Tampa, FL, and Ronald (Sherri) Hickmon, of Louisville, KY; step-aunts, Audrey Morgan and Tura Graham of Jacksonville, FL; nephew, Dallas Cole; his paternal siblings; and a host of cousins, other relatives, and very close friends.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, May 11, 2023, 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Ray Williams Memorial Chapel. MASK RECOMMENDED.
