Mr. David Jackson Obituary

Mr. David Allen Jackson of Tampa, FL, passed away on January 12, 2026. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, January 24, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Brown Memorial Church of God in Christ, 2313 E. 27th Avenue, Tampa, FL 33605, with Bishop Anthony Gilyard, Officiating.  Interment will follow in Orange Hill Cemetery, 4900 E. Chelsea St., Tampa, FL 33610.

Mr. David Allen Jackson was born August 4, 1962, in Luxora, Arkansas, to the late Johnny S. Jackson, Sr. and Birdia M. Jackson. As a youth, he attended Faith Temple Church of God in Christ in Largo, Florida.  David received his GED in 1982.  He retired on February 4, 2022, after 23 years at the City of Tampa, Archives and Records, City Clerk.  He was a member of Brown Memorial Church of God in Christ in Tampa, Florida.  David was an avid lover of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Additionally, David had a great love for playing dominoes with his friends.

Mr. David A. Jackson was a devoted husband, a loving father, and a proud grandfather. He shared a beautiful bond with his wife Agar, and the love he had for his family was evident in everything he did. His heart belonged to his family and he made sure they always knew how deeply he cared. David loved football, traveling, and spending time with his grandchildren. One of his greatest joys was talking to them on FaceTime, laughing, encouraging them, and staying connected even when they were apart. He was the proud father of one son, Antonio Jenkins, who meant the world to him. Above all, David was a man of love. He never failed to express it. Every day, he would say, “I love you,” and it was always returned with, “I love you too.” That simple exchange reflected the deep, genuine love that filled his life and home. David will always be remembered for his warm heart, his devotion to his wife and family, and the love he gave so freely. His memory will live on in every life he touched.

Mr. David A. Jackson was actively involved with Push to Your Destiny (PTYD) beginning in 2023 and he fully embraced the vision and mission. He believed in the power of unity, service, and uplifting the community. As a committed board member, David was supportive, encouraging, and always willing to contribute great ideas to help strengthen the organization. He had a heart for the people and a passion for bridging the gap in our community. David believed that when people come together with love, purpose, and action, real change can happen. His dedication to serving others and helping PTYD grow will always be remembered.

Mr. David A. Jackson was preceded in death by his mother, Birdia M. Jackson; his father, Johnny S. Jackson, Sr.; his two sisters, Marie Robicheaux and Natalie Williams; five brothers, Dennis Jackson, Derrick Jackson, Gary Jackson, Johnny S. Jackson, Jr. and Regnold Jackson.
