Mr. Eric Ladson

Mr. Eric Louis Ladson of Tampa, FL passed away on Tuesday, October 24, 2023. A Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, November 4, 2023, 11:00 a.m. at Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery, 4615 E. Hanna Avenue, Tampa, FL 33610 with Rev. McRae Mangum, Officiating.

Mr. Eric Louis Ladson was born on March 22, 1983, in Tampa, Florida.  His parents, Louis F. Ladson and Sharon Ann Ladson were happy and honored to welcome him with his sister, Tishia, to the family. He was a friendly outgoing youngster who enjoyed the outdoors and sports.  He made friends easily through his many interests and sports activities. 

There were plenty of families in the neighborhood, and Eric knew most of them from school, sports, or just playing outside.  He graduated from Robinson High School, where he played on the football team.  After graduating, Eric spent some time at San Diego State Community College on a football scholarship.  He returned to Tampa and later enlisted in the US Navy.  His career was short-lived due to mental health issues. 

Eric tried his hand as a store clerk, stocker, driver, and construction worker at various retailers in the Tampa area.  He tried very hard to be an independent man even though his health issues increased dramatically.  He completed Cosmetology School to become a barber, but once again, mental health issues plagued this endeavor.  Eric kept trying to be productive.  In the last months of his life, he spoke of returning to school to train to counsel young people with mental health issues. 

Eric, we miss you so much.  We miss your warm bear hugs.  We miss your great sense of humor and most of all we miss your warm friendly smile!  We love you and God loves you best because now you are free from all your worries!

He leaves to cherish his memories: his mother, Sharon; sisters, Tishia, LaShon, and Erica; and a host of uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.

A visitation will be held on Friday, November 3, 2023, 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Ray Williams Funeral Home, 301 N. Howard Avenue, Tampa, FL 33606.
