Mr. Ernest Johnson

Mr. Ernest Lee Johnson of Tampa, FL passed away on Tuesday, September 24, 2024. Visitation will be held on Friday, October 4, 2024, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Ray Williams Funeral Home, 301 N. Howard Avenue, Tampa, FL 33606. The interment will be held on Monday, October 7, 2024, 11:00 a.m. at Florida National Cemetery, 6502 SW 102nd Avenue, Bushnell, FL 33513.

Ernest Lee Johnson was born in Tampa, FL on December 29, 1941. He attended Don Thompson High School (now Blake High School). For 20 years, Ernest proudly served in the US Army. He was a Sergeant and one of the top recruiters for the military. During Ernest's life, he enjoyed spending time with his friends and family from The Sulphur Springs community. Ernest touched many lives and will be truly missed.

He is preceded in death by: his mother, Nell Johnson; grandmother, Eunice Beckwith; and his two brothers, Odell, and Orlando Johnson.

He is survived by: his four children, Evanell Borders-Hoyte, Nell Johnson, Dioan Johnson-Fribley (Micheal Fribley), and Ernest Johnson, Jr.; nine grandchildren, Brittany Heffron (Cliff Heffron), Jada Jones, Mikessa Fribley, Marckala Jones, Asia Jones, Earnest Johnson, Ani Leigh Hoyte, Mari Fribley and Jaheim Johnson; two great-grandchildren, Anthony Bender and Kieran Heffron; sister, Christine Mitchell; aunt, Annie Jean Vickers; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
