Mr. Ervin McKeever Jr. Obituary

Ervin McKeever Jr. passed away Friday, August 5, 2022. A Memorial Services will be held Saturday, August 20, 2022, 11:00 a.m. at Ray Williams Memorial Chapel, 301 N. Howard Avenue, Tampa, FL 33606 with Reverend Lance Stephens, Officiating. MASK RECOMMENDED.

Ervin McKeever Jr. was born in Thomasville, Georgia on February 10, 1938, to proud parents Ervin (Sr.) and Idella Coleman McKeever. Ervin spent his early years in Georgia. Ervin relocated to Tampa, Florida and graduated with the class of 1956 from Don Thompson Vocational High School.

Ervin served two years in the U.S. Army, and after leaving the service he attended Gibbs Junior College. After college he worked for the City of Tampa for many years, starting in the Water Department and later transferring to the Parks and Recreation Department where he served as a Playground Instructor. After working for the city, he went to work with Anheuser Busch, where he retired after 30 years of service.

Ervin met his wife Katie in Tampa and shared over 40 years of marriage. Ervin was a great provider and loved his family. Ervin had a true passion for sports and was a very skilled bowler. As a member of various bowling leagues, he received many ribbons and trophies from the countless tournaments won throughout the years. He also was an avid football fan, and his favorite football team was the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He was a season ticket holder for over 30 years and never missed a home game.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Katie McKeever; parents, Ervin (Sr.) and Idella Coleman McKeever; brother, William McKeever; and sisters, Ona Mae Willis, and Ernestine Brown.

Ervin leaves to cherish his memories: his children, Michael Weston, DeVonne (Larry) McKeever-Daniels, and Timothy (Lori) McKeever; sister, Mary L. Burney; special cousin, Elizabeth C. Shellman Lucas; also cherishing his legacy are a host of loving grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
