Mr. Frederick Lewis Hobdy

Mr. Frederick Lewis Hobdy of Tampa, FL, passed away on Thursday, April 9, 2026.  A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Ray Williams Memorial Chapel, 301 N. Howard Avenue, Tampa, FL 33606, with Dr. Charlie A. D. Sampson, Officiating.

Mr. Hobdy was a native of Tampa and a resident for 64 years.  He attended Jefferson High School and was employed as a Roofing Technician at G. A. Porter Roofing Company.

He was preceded in death by:  his parents, Flora Mae and Freeman Hobdy; siblings, Johnnie James, Freeman (Sonnie) Hobdy, Willie Frank Hobdy; and son, Bradrick Hobdy.

He leaves to cherish his memories: his beloved wife, Linda Chapman Hobdy; loving children, Tanquitta Hobdy, Lakeshia Hobdy, Frederick Hobdy Jr., Sylvia Baker, Mary White, and Shanta (Raymond) Harris; grandchildren, Eldrea Baker, Linda Baker, Marjorie Baker, Sarah Gadsden, Michael Gadsden Jr., Frederick Gadsden, Sylvia Gadsden, Laziah Duberry, Tamya Duberry, Quentin Duberry, Ariel Jenkins, Timothy Jenkins Jr., Jainiyah Merrell, Joshua Hutchins, and Jaisean Merrill; great grandchildren, Eliza Crawford (Tutti Fruiti), Cedric Jackson, Michael Gadsen III; siblings, Jessie (Bernice) Hobdy, Fannie (Darrell) Thomas, Earline Henderson, Shirley Anderson, Leon Hobdy, Willie Butch (Joyce) Hobdy, Elaine Hobdy, and Janice Hobdy and a host of sorrowing family and friends.
