Mr. Frederick McDuffie Obituary

Frederick Roosevelt McDuffie of Tampa, FL passed away on Sunday, May 7, 2023. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, May 27, 2023, 11:00 a.m. at New Testament Church, 11530 Walker Road, Thonotosassa, FL 33592 with Bishop Sylvester Robinson, Officiating. Interment will follow in Orange Hill Cemetery. MASK RECOMMENDED.

Frederick Roosevelt McDuffie was born February 14, 1965, in St. Petersburg, Florida to Betty Jean Baylor and Roosevelt McDuffie and raised and cared for by James Edward Scott Sr. (Father/Boompaw). Fred loved Duke Blue Devils and was truly his brothers Keepers. Fred's infectious smile and caring heart loved and cared for anyone who he came in contact with. Fred is known as the gentle giant with a big heart.  He graduated from Osceola High School while living in St. Petersburg in his earlier years.

He was preceded in death by: his mother, Betty Scott, and father, Roosevelt McDuffie.

Fred's Precious memories will be treasured by: his wife, Kimberly Ponder-McDuffie; children, Lakiesha Lewis, Johnte Brown,  Fredrissia Mcduffie, Lamecia Mcduffie, and Serenity Mcduffie; loving bonus nephew/son, Julius Robinson III; stepchildren, Kenyanna Agee, Kennorio Dexter, Kenterrio Riordan,  and William (Christina) Mccoy; father, James Edward Scott Sr. (Boompaw); brothers, James Scott Jr., Michael (Erica) Scott, Patrick Scott Sr.,  Steven Scott Sr., Stanley and Edward Scott; sister, Layah Scott; mother-in-law, Elouise Davis; father-in-law, Wilbert Ponder Jr.; 22 grandchildren; brother-in-laws, Julius Robinson Jr., Darryl (Dana)Jordan, Wilbert Ponder 3rd, Derek, Artavius, and Willie Davis; sister-n-laws, Valencia (Lenard)Anthony Jr., and NeeNee Ponder; mothers of his children, Marinda Robinson, Lavoris Walker, and Carlissia Everhart; best friends, Sylvester Robinson, Zundel Bostick, Roderick Ashley,  Michael Young, Damion Clark (Dee) Casio , Toney Mack, Don Mosley, Johnny Frank, and the 29th street men; and a host of nieces and nephews, cousins,  uncles, aunts, and special friends.

A visitation will be held on Friday, May 26, 2023, 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Ray Williams Memorial Chapel. MASK RECOMMENDED.
