Gary Steven Jackson peacefully departed from this world surrounded by his cherished family at home on Monday, October 16, 2023. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, October 28, 2023, 12:00 p.m. at New Bethel Progressive Missionary Baptist Church, 3011 E. North Bay Street, Tampa, FL 33610 with Pastor Reginal T. Webb, Officiating. The Interment will be held on Wednesday, November 1, 2023, 2:00 p.m. in Washington Crossing National Cemetery, 830 Highland Rd, Newton, PA 18940.

Gary Steven Jackson journey began on February 2, 1951, in Newark, New Jersey. He held the special place of being the third child among eleven, born to the late Charles and Sadie Jackson. After graduating from East Orange High School in 1969, Gary embarked on a career with the US Postal Service. Following his patriotic spirit, he answered the call to duty and served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War, earning an honorable discharge in 1972.

Gary earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice at Dyke College in Cleveland, OH. After graduation, he joined the management team at Hyatt Hotel in Cincinnati, OH. Gary earned his CDL License and worked for Conway Freight for 25 years. In 2015, he embarked on a new chapter, embracing the warmth and sunshine of Tampa, Florida. In 2016, he retired from Conway and worked part-time as a school bus driver for the Hillsborough County School District. In 2017, Gary became a member of New Bethel Progressive Missionary Baptist Church in Tampa, Florida.

Gary was preceded in death by: his parents, Charles and Sadie Jackson; and brothers, Thomas and Charles, Jr.

 He leaves to cherish his memory: his loving wife, Tina; 4 children, Yolanda (Virgil) Roberts, Tara, Trevor (Keisha) Parker, and Gary Jr.; 4 brothers, Guy (Kim), Mark (Zoe), Lance, and Scott; 4 sisters, Pamela Ballard, Linda Grier, Stephanie, and Robin; 4 sisters-in-law; parents-in-law; 9 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

As we honor and remember Gary, we celebrate his unwavering commitment to uplifting others and his profound spiritual journey that brought him immense comfort and fulfillment.

A viewing will be held on Saturday, October 28, 2023, 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at New Bethel Progressive Missionary Baptist Church, 3011 E. North Bay Street, Tampa, FL 33610.
