Mr. George Pittman Jr. of Tampa, Florida, gained his wings on Friday, August 29, 2025, to rest in the arms of The Lord. Funeral Services will be conducted on Saturday, September 20, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at Ray Williams Memorial Chapel, 301 N. Howard Avenue, Tampa, FL 33606, with Apostle Larry Pittman, Officiating.
Mr. George Pittman Jr. was born on February 11, 1948, in Edison, Georgia, to his parents, Mr. George and Annie Lou Pittman. He attended Northside High School in Havana, Florida and moved his family from Tallahassee, Florida to Tampa, Florida. He was a resident of Tampa for over 50 years. He was a Deacon and member of Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church under Reverend Dr. C. P. Epps at then to Oak Hill Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Victor Ball.
Mr. Pittman, a jack of all trades, had a long career in the automotive industry and as a Longshoreman. He also enjoyed various activities such as fishing, golfing, hunting, bowling, and nature.
Mr. Pittman was preceded in death by: his sisters, Rethema Pittman and Annie Ree Brown; brother, Edward Gene Pittman; father, George Pittman Sr.; mother, Mrs. Annie Lou Pittman; wife, Mrs. Flossie Pearl Pittman and son, Jeroboam Pittman.
He leaves to cherish his memory: his beloved children, Rethema Macon, Ronald Pittman (Princess), George Pittman (Latoya), Sholonda (Kareem Sr.) Mills, Brian Pittman, and Christine Williams; siblings, Virginia Robinson, Clifford Pittman, Larry Pittman (Betty), Veverly Johnson, Gwendolyn Scott, Tyrone Pittman (Emma) and Linda Pittman; daughter-in-law, Elisa Pittman; grandchildren, Roy Macon Jr., Brianna Hamlette (Joe), Brandon Pittman, Brayon Pittman, Christina Broughton, Swayke Broughton, Jeroboam Pittman Jr., Kareem Mills Jr., Kariim Mills, and Karuun Mills; great grandchildren, Braylen Rose, Brielle Pittman, Landon Nelson and Karuun Mills Jr.; a host of cousins, nephews, and nieces, Eric Brown (Roschella), James Brown III (Karen), Lillie Minor, Elder Colette Avant, Anthony Knight and Deshayla Owens; and the Pittman, Mosley, Shivers, Johnson and Jones families.
