Mr. Gregory James Thomas

Mr. Gregory James Thomas Sr. of Tampa, FL passed away on Thursday, January 16, 2025. A Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 8, 2025, 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Ray Williams Memorial Chapel, 301 N. Howard Avenue, Tampa, FL 33606.

Gregory James Thomas Sr. was born on January 11, 1953, in Hillsborough County to the late Eula and Christopher Thomas. Gregory was a believer of Christ Jesus. He was educated in the public schools of Hillsborough County and graduated from Blake High School in West Tampa. He was employed by Tampa Housing Authority for more than 25 plus years. After retiring from Tampa Housing Authority, he did handy-man work. In his free time, he loved spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Gregory was preceded in death by: two sisters, Christine McCarter and Willie Mae Townsend; and three brothers, Frederick Thomas, Eugene Thomas, and Goliath Davis.

Gregory leaves to cherish his loving memories: life partner, Betty Scott; three sons, Gregory Jr. (Saconda), Kraig, and Shang; three daughters, Demessia (Me-C) and husband Corey, RaRa (Red), and Era (GG); 12 grandchildren, Ashley (Tyman), Asia (Andre), Alisha, CJ, Aniyah, Tylee, Dynastee, La’Ava, Daylon, Khalani, Princess Kei’era, and Kingston; one great-grand, Azyaih; Sister, Rev. Sandra McDuffie; brother, Rodney; niece, Rolanda; nephew, Dwayne; and a host of cousins and friends.
