Mr. Henry "JD" Dickson Jr.

Mr. Henry Dickson Jr., also known as “JD” and “Boogie Woogie Man” of Tampa, FL, passed away on Monday, July 14, 2025. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, July 26, 2025, 2:00 p.m. at Ray Williams Memorial Chapel, 301 N. Howard Avenue, Tampa, FL 33606. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery, 4615 E. Hanna Avenue, Tampa, FL 33610.

Henry Dickson Jr. was born and raised in Tampa, FL, born on December 24, 1942. JD was educated in the Hillsborough County public school system. His heart was bigger than anyone would ever imagine. JD had an amazing work history.

JD will be reunited with: his son, Henry Dickson III, and Andrew Miguel Hancock; grandson, Dion Michael Burrows Jr.; mother and father; sister; brother; nieces; nephews; and other relatives that departed this earthly home.

JD leaves behind a beautiful legacy he built with his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and other people he ever came in contact with. He leaves to cherish his memories: his children, Regina Dickson, Kevis Dickson, Andreana Samuels, Jonathan Dickson, Ashley Aronald, and Sulema Marcelina Dickson Hester; grandchildren, Tacvon Tooks, Rodney Dickson, Henry Dickson IV,Derrick Andrew Jones, Ashley Wright, Kaylin Kiser, Henry Floyd, Latoya Austin, Brandon Goff, Corey Chisholm, Remel Hester, Kevis Dickson Jr., Diamond Dickson, Keyon Samuels, Shu’Darren Samuels, Keyarra Cohen, and Markesha Cohen; great grands, Rodney Dickson Jr., Ronnie Dickson, Derrick Jones Jr., Kourtney Jones, Davonn Sims, Shalon Mazyck, Saige Dickson, Makaylas Dickson, Henna-Marie Dickson, Henry Dickson V, Hendrik Dickson, and Hensley Dickson; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held on Friday, July 25, 2025, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Ray Williams Funeral Home, 301 N. Howard Avenue, Tampa, FL 33606.
