Mr. Herbert Charles Maddox

Mr. Herbert Charles Maddox of Tampa, FL passed away on Wednesday, March 13, 2025. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, March 29, 2025, 2:00 p.m. at Ray Williams Memorial Chapel, 301 N. Howard Avenue, Tampa, FL 33610 with Dr. Rev. Leon Gallon, Officiant. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery, 4615 E. Hanna Avenue, Tampa, FL 33610.

Herbert Charles Maddox was born November 24, 1957, in Tampa, Florida to Mr. and Mrs. Charlie (Margaret) Maddox. Herbert attended Dunbar Elementary School and Howard W. Blake High School. Mr. Maddox was previously employed as a custodian at Tampa International Airport.  Herbert enjoyed listening to Charles Stanley and all gospel music. He loved shooting pool… and Always Winning!

Herbert was preceded in death by: his son, Cleveland Alexander; parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charlie (Margaret) Maddox; brother, Clarence Maddox; and nephew, Tyrone Thomas.

Sacred memories will forever remain in the hearts of: his siblings, Jack Maddox (Thelma), Alliene Maddox Robinson-Latson (Michael), Beverly Maddox-Glover, Margaret Maddox-Walker(Alton), and Ollie Maddox-Carter; mother of his son, Delphine Alexander; devoted niece, Treneshia Maddox; devoted nephew, Javaris Carter; nieces, Jacquelyn Mitchell, DeRonda Green, LaKeisha Maddox, Cherisa Walker (Kevin), Tanya Moore-Maddox, Gabrielle Thomas, and Shayla Bryant; devoted grandnephew, Javaris Carter, Jr. (My Twin); nephews, Alton Walker, Reginald Maddox, Deon Maddox (Samantha), Bobbie McDowell, Jr. (Marlo), Charlie Everett (Patricia), and Robert Maddox; many grands and great grand nieces and nephews; God Sister, Deborah Caldwell; sister-in-love, Linda Maddox; numerous cousins of Fredericksburg, VA, Rochester, NY, Minneapolis, MN, Chicago, IL, Tacoma, WA, Utica, NY, and Fort Worth, TX; a host of loving families and friends, The Harris Family, Tolbert, Flowers, Alexander, Don South-Hall, Derrick Hunter, and Clarence Gallon; and devoted barber and friend, George Jefferson-Smith, and Lula Jean Morigene.  

A Visitation will be held on Friday, March 28, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Ray Williams Funeral Home, 301 N. Howard Avenue, Tampa, FL 33606.
