Lake Avenue, Tampa, FL 33610.
Born in Philadelphia, PA, Howard was raised in Willingboro, NJ, and graduated from John F. Kennedy High School. He then went to Morehouse College, graduating with a bachelor’s degree in history. He was a member of their famed Glee Club and participated in their Drama Club. After graduating, he attended Southern University, where he graduated with his Juris Doctor degree. He was a proud Morehouse man and alumnus of two HBCUs. After graduating, he moved to Tampa, where he resided for 35 years. In the early 1990s, Howard became a lifelong member of Bible-Based Fellowship Church, where he served faithfully for more than 30 years and participated in the Drama and Legal Ministries. It was also at Bible-Based Fellowship Church where Howard met and married the love of his life, Michelle. Through their union, three children were born.
Howard began his legal career in 1997 as an Assistant Public Defender. He then transitioned to the position of Assistant State Attorney, where he worked for several years. In his final role, he served as a Senior Assistant Federal Public Defender – a position he truly cherished. In addition to enjoying the challenge of defending his clients, he was grateful for the chance to help them get back on the right path after slight detours in life. An accomplished actor, Howard was a member of Talents Blessed by God Production Company, headed by Lucinda Askew, and was known for his performances in many locally produced plays. He also had a starring role in “The Glass Window,” a Christian, faith-based movie.
Howard was preceded in death by: his baby son, Christopher Harrison Anderson; his father, Howard Richard Anderson; and his mother, Dorothy Elizabeth Kane.
He leaves to cherish his memory: his loving and devoted wife, Michelle; children, David and Chris; sister, Sharon Blagmon (Tony); sister figure, Celia Quitee (Charles); aunts, Marion Price and Marva Norfleet; stepfather, Richard Coleman; and a host of other sorrowing relatives including in-laws, nieces, nephews and cousins, as well as friends and co-workers.
