Mr. James Broom Sr.

Mr. James Earl “Big James” Broom of Tampa, FL passed away on Thursday November 24, 2022. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, December 17, 2022, 2:00 p.m. at Ray Williams Memorial Chapel, 301 N. Howard Avenue Tampa, FL 33606 with Elder Jarvis Green, Pastor of New Dawn Restoration Center, Officiating. MASK RECOMMENDED.

Mr. James Earl “Big James” Broom was born in Louisiana but known and loved widely in Tampa, Florida. James leaves with us memories of being a great father, husband, friend, son, and overall, an important person to everyone who was blessed to meet him. James was well known at Deeper Life Christian Church, and his place of employment, Elementary School Walton Academy as a man who wore plenty hats, playing various important roles such ad Sound Engineering, Technician, and Maintenance work, as well as making everyone including the kids laugh at his jokes and his warm-hearted playful demeanor.

James made it to 59 years old, and was survived by: his 3 children, James Broom Jr., Ja’mesha Broom, and Antonio Broom; his former wife and mother of James and Ja’mesha, Dina Broom; parents, Mary L. Harris, and Malvin J. Harris Sr.; siblings, Clarice Allen, Patrica A. Broom, Terry W. Broom (Theresa), Malvin J. Harris Jr. (Annette), Relliah R. Seaton (Antonio), and Rita D. Cowan (Anthony); best friend, Mary Holmes; his family and friends at WAPA; and a host of nieces and nephews, great niece and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews.

 He was an angel in all of our lives, and he will continue to be an angel in Heaven. 

The visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, December 16, 2022, at Ray Williams Funeral Home, 301 N. Howard Avenue Tampa, FL 33606. MASK RECOMMENDED.
