Mr. James Freeman-Holliday, known as “Whistle Boy” of Tampa, FL passed away on Friday, February 21, 2025. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, March 8, 2025, 2:00 p.m. at Ray Williams Memorial Chapel, 301 N. Howard Avenue, Tampa, FL 33606 with Rev. Richard Wilson, Officiant/Eulogist.
James Freeman-Holliday was born on October 4, 1960, to James Freeman and Margaret Holliday. He was a native of Tampa, FL and a resident of Tampa for 64 years. He attended Public Schools of Hillsborough County and was a member of Faith Temple Missionary Baptist Church. He was employed as a Dishwasher at Hattricks Restaurant. He worked many community jobs as a Carpenter Assistant. He was very meticulous in his work, paying close attention to details which made him an excellent employee.
He was preceded in death by: his mother, Margaret Holliday; grandmother, Mattie Michael Corbin; aunts, Marion Holliday Jones, Betty Corbin, Juanita Wilder Young, Janie Bell Marshall, Eddie Mae Wilder Fisher, and Catherine Simmons; and uncles, John (Champ) Wilder, Melvin Wilder Sr., and Clifton Wilder.
He leaves to cherish his memories: his aunt, Patricia A. Wilson (the late Robert Sr.); devoted cousin/caregiver, Janet R. Richardson; special cousin, James C. Richardson Jr.; and a host of loving cousins and friends.
