Mr. Jerry Lee Bennett, Sr., of Tampa, Florida, passed away on Tuesday, July 21, 2026. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, August 8, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Ray Williams Memorial Chapel, 301 N. Howard Avenue, Tampa, FL 33606, with Pastor Donald Lott, Officiating. Interment will immediately follow at Garden of Memories Cemetery, 4207 E. Lake Avenue, Tampa, FL 33610.
Mr. Bennett was born in Donalsonville, Georgia, and was a resident of Tampa, Florida, for 68 years. He attended the Seminole County School System in Donalsonville, Georgia. He later moved to Tampa, FL, where he met and married the late Katie Lee Washington. He was employed as a Supervisor at Ryerson, formerly known as J.M. Tull’s Metal, where he dedicated many years of service.
He was preceded in death by: his parents, Achie Bennett and Addie Manley; his children, Gregory Bennett, Jerry Bennett, Jr., and Antoinette Daly; his brothers, Harvey Bennett, Bobby Bennett, Edgar Bennett, Thomas Bennett, Dexter Bennett, and Johnny Roy Bennett; his sister, Frankie Mae Bennett Ingram; and his lifetime partner, Rose Graves.
He leaves to cherish his loving memory: his son, Antonio Bennett; his brother, Alvin Bennett; his sisters, Ruthell Bennett Taylor, Linda Bennett (James) Callaway, and Alma Bennett Jackson; his sister-in-law, Ruby Bennett; his grandchildren, Demetrius Williams, Brandon Bennett, Jordan Bennett, Jasmine Bennett, Ashley Bennett, Kayla Bennett, and Cennika Bryant; his bonus daughters, Annette Graves and Keshia Graves; his bonus grandchildren, Tearah Lewis, Waynesha Lawson, Tekeriah Fortson, Irakiah Williams, Keshawna Haynes, and Perry Haynes, Jr.; along with a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will forever cherish his memory.
Visitation will be held on Friday, August 7, 2026 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Ray Williams Funeral Home, 301 N. Howard Avenue, Tampa, FL 33606.
