Mr. Johnnie Campbell Obituary

Mr. Johnnie Lee Campbell of Tampa, Fl passed away on Saturday, March 4, 2023. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, April 1, 2023, 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church of College Hill, 3838 N. 29th Street, Tampa, FL 33610 with Dr. Stanley Evan Burrows, Senior Pastor, Officiating. Interment to be held at a later date in Florida National Cemetery, 6502 SW 102 Avenue, Bushnell, FL 33513. MASK RECOMMENDED.

Johnnie Lee Campbell was a dynamic person with a heart and personality of gold. He was affiliated with American Legion Post #167, where he served as Past Commander of Carmichael for 5 years. He had the distinct honor of serving as the American Legion 15th District Commander in which he was the first African American to serve in the 15th District American Legion, State of Florida. He also served as the Department of Florida Assistant Sergeant of Arms. He was a member of the 40/8 #199 of Florida. Other Affiliations: 1st Vice President of Teamsters - Local 79 of Tampa, FL., Past Worship Master of Landmark Lodge #93 (THA), Scottish Rite Mason, Past Commander-in-Chief of Sunshine Consistory #147, Past Appointed Officer of Harram Temple #93, Past Officer of I.B.P.O.E.W Bay City Lodge #268 and was the Post Potentate of the Elks Lodge.

Johnnie was preceded in death by: his Wife, Lacy Campbell; Son, Johnnie Lee Campbell, Jr. Mother, Virginia Valdez; Father, Bonnie Campbell; Brother, James Campbell; and Sisters, Betty Dean, Rosa Young.

He leaves to cherish his memories: Daughters, Beverly Bryant, Larraine Nunn (Warren), Tammie Warren, and Ersula Hill of Tallahassee, FL; Sons, Darron Campbell (Sheletha), and Christopher Warren; 2 Step-Sons, Marvin Johnson (Sandra), and Willie Johnson (Caridad); Grandchildren, Arnetta Phillips, Roshelle Bryant, Alexis Tolbert, Elizabeth Bolden (Darnell), Antoinett Lockett, Drake Bryant (Monique), Rhonda Sanders, Natasha Williams (Christopher), Nikita Bryant, Roshelle, Alexis, Elizabeth Bryant, Robyne Williams, Toni Sanderson (Henry), and Erik Williams; 32 Great Grandchildren; 46 Great Great Grandchildren; 2 Great Great Great Grandchildren; Nieces, Sandra Dean, Lisa Campbell, and Sheri Campbell; Favorite Cousin, Margerita Thomas; and Caregiver, Aretha Sams.

A visitation will be held on Friday March 31, 2023, 4:00-7:00 p.m. at Ray Williams Memorial Chapel, 301 N. Howard Avenue, Tampa FL 33606.  MASK RECOMMENDED.
