Obituary

Our beloved Jordan James Jr. passed away on Wednesday, August 2, 2023, at the age of 64. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, August 19, 2023, 11:00 a.m. at Ray Williams Memorial Chapel, 301 N. Howard Avenue, Tampa, FL 33606.

Jordan James Jr.  was born in White Plains, NY and spent his later years in Tuskegee, Alabama. He started his higher education at Auburn University and completed it at Tuskegee University. He was a member of the Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity.

In 1996, he met and married his lovely wife, Dorothy. They spent the last 26 years loving each other, loving their children and grandchildren, and ministering to God’s people. In addition to his family and friends, he loved to laugh, watch Star Wars, and enjoyed Italian food. He always had a good story and good advice.

He is preceded in death by: his father, Jordan James Sr.; and mother, Ellen James.  

He is survived by: his wife, Dorothy; daughters, Natasha (Robert) Ragan, Marilyn Hobdy, Lillian (Jason) Ion, and Tabrea (Adam) Ndaula; Godson, Martevias Garner; Grandchildren, Caleb Mcleod, Zoe Roberts, Joslyn Hobdy, and Demilah Ion; sister, Sharon James; brother, Thomas James; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and friends.

His legacy will live on in the hearts and minds of everyone he interacted with as well as those he reached but never met. He was loved and he will be greatly missed.
