Mr. Joseph Anthony "JoeJoe" Green Obituary

Mr. Joseph Anthony Green, affectionately known as "JoeJoe," of Tampa, Florida, passed away on Friday, August 8, 2025. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, August 23, 2025, 2:00 p.m. at Mount Tabor Missionary Baptist Church, 2606 W. Grace Street, Tampa, Florida, with Pastor Keaton Brown of Mount Tabor officiating. Interment will follow at Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery, 4615 E. Hanna Avenue, Tampa, FL 33610.

Joseph Anthony Green was born on August 5, 1986, in Tampa, Florida, to Jacquelyn Green and Anthony Green. He attended schools in Hillsborough County, where his creative talents were quickly recognized and nurtured. His artwork was chosen for display at the Tampa Museum of Art—an honor he carried with pride. Joseph also had a deep love for music, dancing, and entertaining others. After school, he joined the workforce and held various jobs, always bringing energy and personality to every role he took on.

As a young man, Joseph accepted Christ as his personal Savior at Mount Tabor Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor T.D. Leonard. He was actively involved in the Youth Ministries and could often be found singing alongside his brothers during Youth Sundays.

Those who knew JoeJoe best will remember him for his carefree spirit, magnetic charisma, and unmistakable zest for life. He had a unique gift of conversation—able to talk the icing off a cake—and though small in stature, his presence was larger than life. He had a heart full of love and was always at the center of any family gathering. JoeJoe fancied himself an avid fisherman, though truth be told, he enjoyed eating seafood—especially crabs—far more than he enjoyed catching it.

Joseph now rests in the presence of the Lord, reunited with many loved ones who preceded him in death: his grandfathers, Leroy Green Sr. and Hardy Mungin; grandmothers, Mary Jean Flowers, Bertha Mae Green, and Lily Bell Tucker; uncles, Freddie Jones, Leroy Green Jr., and Roger Barrett; aunts, Bernice Mungin, Phyllis Pratt, Renee Davis, and Lydia Barrett; nieces, Keyona Sims and Porsha Mungin; and his brother, Tony Leonard Green.

He leaves to cherish his memory: his beloved son, Joseph Anthony Green Jr.; four cherished daughters, Navelle, Angel, Queen, and Baby; his devoted parents, Anthony and Jacquelyn Green; his beloved "Auntie Mom," Miarita Webb; his brothers, Paul Mungin and Leonard Joseph Green; sister, Stephanie Mungin; uncles, Marshall Jones Jr., Leonard Green Sr., Donald Mungin, and Ronald Green Sr.; aunts, Anita Green, Michelle Green Dennard, Vernita Mungin, and Cynthia Sharpe; nephews, Justin Mungin and Sincere Saffold; nieces, Ja’da Green, Amri Green, and Azia Green; cousin-brothers: Jonathan Davis, Michael Greer, Ronnie Allen, Terrence Jackson, Kareem Webb, Leroy Webb, and Kenneth Webb (Gladys); cousins, Marvin, Lamar (Renee), Nathan, Leonard Jr., Aaron, Rodney, Ronald Jr., Leroy III, Samuel Leroy, Edward, Tony B., Fred W., Steven, Jimmy, Lazzette (Jeff), Angela (Dennis), Carol, Jeanne, Pamela, Ella, Sharon, Coquilla, Katrina, Kimberly, Charlotte (Damien), Courtney, Charvette, Timey, Valerie, Carolyn, Ebony, Monique, and Kenyatta; and many more, extended family/friends, Brittaney Carroll, Carlton Burrows, Samuel Tucker, Michael Thompson, Johnny Blount, Sharon Sims, Barbara Thompson, Yvonne Blount, Sandy Harris, and Darlene Cook; and a host of other cousins and sorrowing relatives.

He will be missed by the Jones, Clyde, Randolph, and Hayes families of Tampa, as well as the Hamptons, Mileys, and McCalls of Valdosta and Morven, Georgia.

Visitation will be held on Friday, August 22, 2025, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Ray Williams Funeral Home, 301 N. Howard Avenue, Tampa, FL 33606.
