Mr. Kenneth Juan Terrel Brooks

It is with heartfelt sadness that the family of Kenneth Juan Terrel Brooks, affectionately known as “KAOS,” announces his passing on Friday, August 7, 2026, in Tampa, Florida.  Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, August 22, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at New Greater Friendship Missionary Baptist Church, 3325 E. Emma Street, Tampa, FL 33610, with Pastor Donald Lott, Officiating.  Interment will follow in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery, 4615 E. Hanna Avenue, Tampa, FL 33610.

Kenneth was born on September 28, 1979, and will be remembered for his larger-than-life personality, entrepreneurial spirit, kindness, resilience, and his love for his family and friends. His laughter, wit, and unforgettable presence touched many lives, and his memory will continue to live on through all who knew and loved him.

Kenny was a loving son, a cherished brother, a devoted father to his four daughters and his stepchildren, and a caring grandfather of five. He was well known throughout his community for his kindness and for being a down-to-earth, outgoing, and authentic man. Kenny could talk to anyone. He extended respect to others and expected that same respect in return. He enjoyed gathering with his friends and family, who were blessed by his witty, infectious personality. His presence left a lasting impression on everyone with whom he came in contact.

Kenny will be deeply missed by his “brother’s keeper,” John Brooks Jr., with whom he shared a very special and unique relationship. Their brotherly bond was one of love, loyalty, and companionship. He will also be deeply missed by the many family members and friends with whom he developed lasting bonds and deep comradeship throughout his life.

Kenny was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Christine Simmons Brooks; his sister, Shelia Denise Belcher; his niece, whom he loved as a sister, Shari Simmons; and his grandparents, James and Annie Will Simmons.

Kenny leaves to cherish his precious memories of love: his children;  Sa’Bre’Ana Patterson, Kenyan’A Brooks, Keaira Brooks; Messiah Guyton; Jaquon Taliaferro, Azar, and Eryn; grandchildren,  Sai’Nani Patterson, Kashton Patterson I, Sapphire Brooks, Rocky Brooks, and Ky’Son Brooks;  siblings,  brother, John C Brooks, Jr. (Patashia); sister, Paula Williams (Zarron); aunts, uncles and great aunt, Lela Mae Lee (Tee Baby), Bobbi-Jean Simmons, Emma, Linda Simmons, and Aunt Carolyn Simmons; nieces and nephews, Kenneth Belcher Jr.( Rose), Siera Belcher (Marcellus), Latoya Hunter ( Dana), John C. Brooks, III ( Alicia), Javon Brooks and Javarus Brooks; cousins: Morris, Lee Moore( Evelyn), Chinnell Handford, Dwayne Simmons, Regina Hardin( Jackie), Leroy Harden, Gloria Jean Harden, Jesse Harden, Demetrius Fletcher (Yolanda), Donnie Hollis, Tameka Fletcher, Keisha Simmons and Brandi Simmons; honorable friends and caregivers: Shawn (Jit), Raymond (Ray), Angelo, Desmond (De De), and Roberto Cuevas (Tico), who were amongst his best friends for over a century. Kenny also leaves behind a host of other special extended family members, including nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and caregivers, who will forever keep him in their hearts and cherish the many memories, laughter, and love they shared with him.

Family, friends, and members of the community are invited to join us in celebrating Kenneth’s life and legacy.  The family extends its heartfelt gratitude for every prayer, phone call, message, visit, and expression of love and support during this difficult time.
