Mr. Kenneth James Rolle Powell

Mr. Kenneth James Rolle Powell of Tampa, Florida passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 11, 2025. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, January 25, 2025, 2:00 p.m. at Mt. Olive AME Church, 1902 W La Salle Street, Tampa, FL 33607 with Pastor Donald Lott, Officiating.

Kenneth was born in Tampa in 1966 to Sybil Yvonne Rolle Powell and James Powell. He attended school in Hillsborough County, Florida. Kenneth affectionally called “Peanut” and was known for his generous spirit and kind heart. He loved sports, especially football. Kenny was an avid Tampa Bay Buccaneers fan. There was never a Sunday that he was not cheering loud and proud of his Bucs. Kenny was an active member in his community and was always willing to lend a helping hand. Kenny woke up every morning with such a joyous spirit, he made sure to text all of his family and friends, “Good morning”. You could always depend on him to send you a Happy Birthday text message on your special day.

Kenneth was preceded in death by: his parents, Sybil Rolle Powell and James Powell; grandparents, Harold and Olga Gomez, and Hattie Norton; uncles, Ormand and Origin Gomez; brother, Thomas Rolle; sister, Ella Faye Rolle; and niece, Bianca Moore.

He leaves to cherish his memories: his brother, George Rolle; sisters, Olga Rolle, Janice (James) Brown, and Alonda Hill; aunts, Eloise (Joel) Roberts of Freeport Bahamas, and Roxanna Ferguson of Nassau Bahamas; nephews, George Jr., Deon, Darron, Jávon, Ian, Charles, Chaz, and Javaris; nieces, Tonya, Raykela, Qweaundra, Sybil, Rachel, and Antionette; grand nephews, grandnieces, and numerous relatives; and friends, Shirley Johnson, Rudy and Mamie Igles, and Lisa Kamper;
