Mr. Labronn A. Reddick Obituary

Mr. LaBronn A. Reddick of Tampa, FL, passed away on Monday, June 30, 2025. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, July 26, 2025, 11:00 a.m. at Mt. Olive AME Church, 1902 W. LaSalle Street, Tampa, FL 33607. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery, 4615 E. Hanna Avenue, Tampa, FL 33610.

LaBronn A. Reddick was a native of Tampa, Florida, born on May 23, 1950, the oldest of two boys. He attended local schools, the historic Helping Hand Day Nursery, Harlem Elementary School, and Howard W. Blake Senior High School. He graduated from the Class of 1968 and went on to Tennessee Technological University in Cookeville, Tennessee, for two years to continue his education as a music major. Upon his return to Tampa, he held several jobs before embarking on his career in law enforcement. In 1978, he was hired by the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office as a law enforcement deputy. During his career as a patrol deputy, he worked every zone in the county. He was assigned to the exclusive Selective Enforcement Unit, which took its assignments directly from the sheriff. His duties included patrol enforcement, civil disobedience/ riot control (Quiet Squad), drug law enforcement, and digital security. His duties on this squad were a precursor to the formation of the S.W.A.T. team. He received specialized training from the U. S. State Department in dignitary security and protection. He served on the protection details, with the Secret Service, for President George H. W. Bush, President Bill Clinton, Presidential Candidate Michael Dukakis, and Princess Anne of England. He also received specialized training in surveillance techniques. He was married to the love of his life, Christine Tillman Parham, for 44 years, and they raised two daughters, Bridgette and Shontrice. He is a member of Mt. Olive A. M. E. Church, where he serves as a Stewart, Holy Stewart, Class Leader, member of the Men's Choir, member of the Pastor's Aide Board, a member of the Culinary Ministry, the Lay Organization, and Sons of Allen. In 1991, he was promoted to Detective in the property crimes section. In 1996, he transferred to the desk at the newly formed District 3 office. In 1998, he was promoted to Law Enforcement Corporal and assigned to District 2. While assigned there, he supervised a squad of twenty-two deputies in all aspects of law enforcement. During his career, he received numerous commendations and in 2004 he retired with distinction, after twenty-six years of service. Trooper LaBronn A. Reddick was also a member of The Buffalo Soldiers 9th & 10th (Horse Calvary Association. He continued to lead a life of service in his church, home, his community, and to all that he came into contact with.

Visitation will be held on Friday, July 25, 2025, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Ray Williams Funeral Home, 301 N. Howard Avenue, Tampa, FL 33606.
