Mr. Leon Bernard Crews, of Tampa, Florida, passed away on Wednesday, September 10, 2025. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 27, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Ray Williams Memorial Chapel, 301 N. Howard Avenue, Tampa, FL 33606, with Pastor James Crews officiating. Interment will follow on Monday, September 29, 2025, at 11:20 a.m. at Florida National Cemetery, 6502 SW 102nd Avenue, Bushnell, FL 33513.
Mr. Crews was a native of Sanford, Florida, and a resident of Tampa for 67 years. He attended Howard W. Blake High School and graduated from Henry B. Plant High School in 1971. A gifted writer, he had a deep love for his family, music, and FSU football.
Mr. Crews proudly served his country in the United States Air Force from 1972 to 1976. Following his military service, he worked with the Department of Human Services and later with the Florida Sentinel Newspaper until his retirement.
He leaves to cherish his memories: his wife, Regina Crews; daughters, Ahkeemah Crews-Lewis (Kevin), Alexis Crews-Lowman (Willie) and Requina Luttrell; son, Antoine Crews; sister, Hattie Rollins; brother, James Crews (Janice); 11 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren and a host of in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, September 26, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Ray Williams Funeral Home, 301 N. Howard Avenue, Tampa, FL 33606.
