Mr. Lonnie Moultry, III Obituary

Mr. Lonnie Moultry, III of Tampa, Florida, passed away on Saturday, May 23, 2026.  Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, June 6, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at New Life Tabernacle, 6912 Williams Road, Seffner, FL 33584, with Pastor Rashidi Collins, Officiating.  Interment will follow in Rest Haven Memorial Park, 4615 E. Hanna Avenue, Tampa, FL 33610.

Lonnie Moultry, III, born on April 1, 1959, in Tampa, Florida, to Lonnie Moultry Jr. and Luvenia Moultry, was the eldest of four siblings. He graduated from Hillsborough High School in 1977, the same year he met his lifelong love, Valeria Black. After high school, he enlisted in the United States Army and was honorably discharged a few years later.  He then joined the Army Reserves. Lonnie and Valeria married on January 31, 1988. Their union blessed them with three beautiful daughters: Krashona Black, Sharvette Black, and Nita “Tutts” Black Williams.

He loved fishing, working hard and cooking for his family. However, among all of his greatest joys, being a dad to his three daughters held the highest place in his heart. When his daughters were younger, he would often play the trombone for them. Throughout his own struggles, he always had a life lesson or piece of advice to offer to anyone who would listen. He lived life to the fullest and eagerly anticipated the 86th Washington family reunion, where he would reunite with his family.

Lonnie worked for Mantua Manufacturing Company for many years before moving on to Cemex Cementing Company. He retired in 2023. In his later years, he devoted himself to his daughter Nita, accompanying her to her doctor’s appointments and hospital visits until her passing in 2024. Lonnie’s love for his daughters and grandchildren was unwavering.

He was preceded in death by: two of his Daughters, Sharvette Black and Nita Sherelle Black-Williams; his Uncle and Aunt who raised him, Booker and Bertha Harvey; Maternal Grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Johnnie (Inez) Streeter; Parents, Lonnie Moultry Jr. and Luvenia Moultry Streeter Tyson; Sister, Lillian Jenkins; Uncles, Willie Streeter and Willie James Moultry; Aunts, Rosa Moultry, Delouris Streeter, Johnnie Mae Mobley, and Anita Norton; In-Laws, Andrew and Audrey Black; and Sisters-In-Law, Nita Black James, and Linda Black.

He leaves to cherish his memory: his Dedicated Wife, Valeria Moultry; Daughter, Krashona Black; Grandsons, Tylow Johnson, Zyon Tyson, Kumari Garrett, Jamison Williams Jr., and Malik Dorsey; Granddaughters, Jadah Hanner, J’eianah Williams, and Sasha Black; Great Granddaughter, Jazzlyn Johnson; Brother, Leroy (Shirley) Moultry; Sister, Lorraine (Carl) Mitchell; Uncles, Henry Streeter and Leonard (Roxian) Streeter; Brothers-In-Law, Norman (Ekrica) Black, and Perrylee Black; Sister-In-Law, Lisa (Nicole) Black; Special Cousins, Lydia Moultry and Delbert “Charles” Norton; Special Friends, James Eady and Antonio Smith; along with a host of additional nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, associates and acquaintances too many to mention, who will forever cherish his love, laughter and wisdom which he often shared.
