Mr. Lucious Hunter, Jr. of Tampa, Florida, passed away on Saturday, April 4, 2026. A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, April 17, 2026, at 4116 W. Grace Street, Tampa, FL 33607, from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
Mr. Hunter was born on October 22, 1962. He was educated in the Hillsborough County Public Schools and graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School. He worked at Waste Management from 1985 to 1988 and then at the City of Tampa from 1990 to 1994. After that, his life journey was marked by growth, lessons, and perseverance. Lucious found joy in the simple pleasures of life, such as fishing, riding motorcycles, spending peaceful moments by the ocean, and listening to music. He will be remembered for his spirit, quiet strength, and profound love for his family.
He was preceded in death by: his father, Lucious Hunter Sr. and his sister, Victoria Edwards.
He leaves to cherish his memory: his mother, Mrs. Georgia Mae Stringfield (Arthur Stringfield); his four children; Jabari and Sierra Hunter (Charlotte Daniels), Cherrita Thomas (Vernette Weatherspoon), and Lakisha Hunter (Brenda Williams); three siblings, Joyce Finley (Victor), Jo Ann Peterson (Maurice), and Gloria Scott; and his devoted companion, Ms. Curtistine Turner. Lucious Hunter Jr. will be deeply missed and remembered by his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and all who knew and loved him.
God called you home,

Visitation will be held on Friday, April 17, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Ray Williams Funeral Home, 301 N. Howard Avenue, Tampa, FL 33606.
