Mr. M.C. McClendon, 77, of Tampa, FL, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 22, 2026. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, May 16, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Ray Williams Memorial Chapel, 301 N. Howard Avenue, Tampa, FL 33606, with Pastor Robert E. Benn, Officiating. Interment will follow at Orange Hill Cemetery, 4900 E. Chelsea Avenue, Tampa, FL 33610.
Mr. McClendon, born on February 2, 1949, in Bainbridge, GA, to the late Thomas “Tom” and Vera McClendon. He was a devoted father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He was known for his unwavering faith, warm spirit, and love for his family. After retiring as a truck driver, he later continued working with Modulo Design Studio, where he was deeply valued and respected.
He was preceded in death by: his parents; brothers, Cornelius McClendon, L.J. “James” McClendon, and Thomas “Tom” McClendon Jr.; and sisters, Elizabeth Perkins, Juanita Warren, Mary Wimbley, Martha Stringer, and Inez Green.
He leaves to cherish his memory: his children, Michael McClendon (Chalynda), James McClendon (Ebony), and Alysia McClendon; ten grandchildren, Jacquez, JaMario, Antalicia, Ja’varius, Jacquayla, Jaymeka, Diamond, Dennarius, Ja’licia, Tiron, Ahmad, and Aliyah; fifteen great-grandchildren; brother, L.C. “Buddy” McClendon; special loved ones, Yvonne Boone, Elton Grigley Jr., Eltoneisha Grigley, and Mildred Russell; special friends, Giancarlo Giusti, Teresa Giusti, and the staff of Modulo Design Studio; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
Mr. McClendon’s legacy of faith, love, and devotion to family will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
Visitation will be held on Friday, May 15, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Ray Williams Funeral Home, 301 N. Howard Avenue, Tampa, FL 33606.
