Mr. Melvin Forman Obituary

Mr. Melvin Forman of High Point, N.C. passed away on Friday, March 1, 2024. Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, March 16, 2024, 11:00 a.m. at First Missionary Baptist Church of Highland Pines, 4711 E. 21st Avenue, Tampa, FL 33605, Reverend Cleveland Lane, Pastor.

Mr. Melvin Forman was a native of Hillsborough County and a resident of Tampa for 35 years where he attended Hillsborough County Public Schools. He started his career as a Director at the Boys and Girls Club of Liberty Mompierre in Tampa Bay, where he mentored children. After moving to Nashville, TN, he began a new career with Home Depot, later transferring to High Point, N.C. as a District Manager.

Melvin had a ‘bigger than life’ personality. He loved spending time with his family, had a comedic spirit, loved to dance and above all, just loved to make people laugh. He was a mentor to many as he loved inspiring and uplifting people. He was an amazing husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, friend, and provider.

Melvin is preceded in death by: his son, Akeem Forman; parents, Douglas Forman and Christine Jenrette; sister, Alzada ‘Pat’ Morgan; brother, Michael Jenrette; nephew, James Dancey; and father, and mother in-law, Nuriddin and Monica Sharrieff.

Melvin leaves to cherish in his memory: his wife of 30 years, Saudia Forman; daughters, Iesha and Lea’zelle Forman; granddaughter, Ariya Forman; sisters, Yvonne Jenrette, Sandra Ashley, Kolanda Daniels (James), and Gloria Forman; brothers, Harvey Jenrette, Jr. (Frannie), Jake Forman, and Corey Forman (Brandy); uncles, Willie Forman (Eva) and Cephus Forman; aunt, Delores (Dee Dee), and Ashley; brother- in-laws, Tarik Sharrieff (Lori), Saladin Sharrieff (Renee), and Omar Sharrieff (Michelle); and sister in-law, Nadiah Conley (Kierrie); and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family and friends.
