Mr. Melvin Farner "Bo" Brown Obituary

A Celebration of life for Melvin Farner “Bo” Brown of Brandon, Florida will be held on Saturday, February 3, 2024, 11:00 a.m. at Holy Ghost Church of God Purchased with His Blood, Inc., 3613 North 23rd Street, Tampa, Florida with Pastor Keefer, Officiating. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery, 4615 E. Hanna Avenue, Tampa, FL 33610.

Melvin Farner “Bo” Brown was born April 8, 1944, in Tampa, Florida, to parents Ora Lee Brown and J. D. Harden. He passed away on Sunday, January 21, 2024, at Brandon Hospital.  He was the third of seven children.  He was educated in the public schools of Hillsborough County. He retired from KinderMorgan after 27 years of service. He was formerly employed by Consolidated Bagging Inc. He enjoyed watching football and his beloved team, the Washington Redskins.  In 2020 he rededicated his life to Christ.

He was preceded in death by: his daughter, Sharhonda K. Brown; mother and father, Ora Lee Brown and J. D. Harden; maternal grandmother, Mayola Thompson; paternal grandmother, Lula Mae Harden; brothers, Pierce Curry Jr., Kenneth Brown Sr., Edward Brown, and Leroy Brown;  aunts, Vernell Williams, Evelyn Brookins, Bernice Wilson, Doris Batchelor, Blanche Thompson, Joyce Semper, Gwendolyn  Lindo, Catherine Thompson, and Ruth Harden; uncles, Dr. James Brookins Sr., Joseph Thompson, and Emmanuel Batchelor;  cousins, Rudean Darby, Ronald Brookins, and Darryl Hills.

He leaves to cherish his memory: his loving and caring wife and caregiver of 52 years, Lanita Robinson Brown; son, Anthony Hart (Erica); 3 loving daughters, Tonia Brown (Robert), Tanya Robinson (Jerry), and Jacqueline Facion (Robert); 9 grandsons, Gregory Durr, Danny Facion, Michael Wilkes, Darius Jones, Lavontae Facion, Marquise Swilley, Anthony Hart Jr., Javaris Richards, and Aaron Hart; 4 granddaughters, Destiny Brown, Victoria Hart, Tashanty Owens, and Diamond Harrell; 7 great grandsons, Danny Jr., Jamorris, Marquise Jr., Markel, Givanni, Axson, and Mateo; 9 great granddaughters, Leah, Leighlani, Taylor, Sariyah, Nevah, Skylar, Zuri, Juliana, and Maddelena; sister, Jacqueline Taylor; brothers, William Brown, Anthony Brown (Tina), and Eugene Harden (Antoinette);  special cousins, Barbara Hills and Carol Ash; 3 sisters-in-law, Marion Williams, Katreen Robinson, and Janice Johnson (Earl); devoted friends, Ardrea and Ted Cannedy,  Gregory Smith, Charlie Davis, Johnny Taylor, and Darrell Jones; a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews who he loved with all his heart; a host of cousins who he loved dearly, and close friends he cherished.

A visitation will be held on Friday, February 2, 2024, 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Ray Williams Funeral Home, 301 N. Howard Avenue, Tampa, FL 33606.
