Mr. Norris Mond Obituary

Mr. Norris Mond of Tampa, FL, passed away on Tuesday, March 17, 2026.  Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, April 4, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. at Ray Williams Memorial Chapel, 301 N. Howard Avenue, Tampa, FL 33606, with Pastor Donald Lott, Officiating.

Norris Mond was born on March 27, 1970, in Tampa, FL, to Peggie Davis and Morris Mond.  He received his secondary education in the Hillsborough County Public School System.

Norris worked as a Driver for AMI Academy and retired after many years of service.  He was a jokester who brought laughter wherever he went.  He loved to have fun and always wore a smile on his face.  Norris spent his time enjoying life with his family and close friends.  If the situation did not require him to be serious, you could count on Norris to be playing around and lifting everyone’s mood.

Norris had a true sense of style.  He loved to dress well and his shoe game was unmatched.  He was a dedicated Jordan fan who ensured he possessed every hot release that came out.  You would often see Norris wearing a hat and was always repping his favorite football team, the Miami Dolphins!

Norris enjoyed the simple things in life, like sitting down to a full plate of good food on Sunday, especially oxtails or shrimp, while relaxing to a football game or a good Christmas movie. Norris also loved music and often spent time listening to a good “jam.”  He definitely knew how to enjoy life and he always shared that joy with the people around him.

He was preceded in death by: his parents, Peggie Davis and Morris Mond; grandson, Wyatt Mitchell; and sister, Tracie Mond.

He leaves to cherish his loving memories:  his very caring and devoted wife, Vanitha Mond; daughters, Nyesha Mond, Saniah Mond, Kiyana Hodge, Ashley Pollard, Tayla Davis, and Makayla Davis, all of Tampa, FL; sons, Jordan Chester, Norris Mond, Jr., Keon Bexley, and Deonte Mond, all of Tampa, FL; sister, Rashell Stephens of Ft. Wayne, IN; aunt, Connie Mosley (Jerry); uncles, Randy Mosley (Anglin), Jimmy Mosley, and Robert Mosley; mother-in-law, Vivian Gary-Newson (Calvin) of Tampa, FL; sisters-in-law, Terrika Law-Howard (Malio) and Nakia Jones of Tampa, FL; best friend,  Michael Lovett; seventeen grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other sorrowing friends and family.

Visitation will be held on Friday, April 3, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Ray Williams Funeral Home, 301 N. Howard Avenue, Tampa, FL 33606.
