Mr. Oscar Lawson

Oscar Lawson Jr. of Tampa, FL passed away on Sunday, November 13, 2022. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, November 26, 2022, 2:00 p.m. at Ray Williams Memorial Chapel, 301 N. Howard Avenue Tampa, FL 33606 with Pastor Donald Lott, Officiating. MASK RECOMMENDED.

Oscar Jr., son of the late Annie Lee and Oscar Lawson was born on August 26,1926. He was a native of Dothan, Alabama. Oscar Jr. was a loving father and grandfather. He will be dearly missed by family and friends.

Oscar Jr. was preceded in death by: his daughter, Purely M. Lucas; sons, Al Lawson, James Lawson, and Clayton McNeel; sisters, Jessie Mae, and Rochelle Lawson; and brothers, Ernest Raymond, and Charles Ray Lawson.

He leaves to cherish his loving memories: his spouse of thirty years, Mrs. Essie Mae Simms; stepdaughters, Pearlie Bashir, Vernette (Calvin) Weatherspoon, and Millie (Robert) Kelly; grandchildren, Robert Thomas, Cherita Thomas, Quana Sancho, Melissa Smith, Tiffany Brown, Earl Smith, Delilah Smith, Rodrick Kelly, Brittney Brown, Karen Kelly, Karla McNeel, Theresa Shield, Wendolyn Bradford, Gwendolyn Thomas, and Wayne Lawson; brother, Floyd Lawson; daughter in law, Terry McNeel; and a host of great grandkids, nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives.

The visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, November 25, 2022, at Ray Williams Funeral Home, 301 N. Howard Avenue Tampa, FL 33606. MASK RECOMMENDED.
