Mr. Paul Edward Curtis of Riverview, Florida peacefully entered eternal rest on Saturday, March 1, 2025. A celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, March 15, 2025, 3:00 P.M. at Ray Williams Memorial Chapel, 301 N. Howard Avenue, Tampa, FL 33606, Pastor Wallace Bowers, First Baptist Church of Progress Village, Officiant/Eulogist. Interment will be held at a later date in Bay Pines Memorial Cemetery, 10000 Bay Pines Blvd North Street, St. Petersburg, FL 33708.
Mr. Paul Edward Curtis was born in Mobile, AL to the late John W. Curtis and Mary Parker Curtis. He was raised in a loving family alongside his late brother Perry and sister Debbie Curtis-Ross. From a young age, he brought laughter to those around him, earning him a reputation as a spirited jokester and fearless daredevil. Paul attended Florida A&M University (FAMU) where he received his undergraduate degree in civil engineering. While still pursuing his dream of becoming an entrepreneur, Paul attended Dartmouth School of Business where he acquired a dual master’s degree in engineering and construction management. After college, Paul enlisted in the U.S. Army completing a full tour of duty. He was President/CEO of Curtoom Companies, Inc., an engineering construction management firm, which he founded and operated for over 35 years. Paul was an active philanthropist supporting political campaigns and supported community leaders who promoted initiatives towards minority contracting and racial equity within the industry. He supported incarcerated individuals and supported putting them back to work is a testament to his character and values.
He leaves to cherish his memory: his wife, Wilhelmina Curtis; son, Tomikel Curtis; three grandchildren; sister; a special aunt; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
A Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 15, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at Ray Williams Memorial Chapel, 301 N. Howard Avenue, Tampa, FL 33606.
