On March 29th, 2024, Philippli ‘Flip’ Arstacy Jackson Sr., tragically succumbed to an internal injury at the ripe age of 57, after being admitted to Advent Health Tampa. His passing was completely unexpected, leaving his family searching for answers and stricken with grief.
A Committal Service will be held on Saturday, April 13, 2024, 10:00 a.m. at Sunset Memory Gardens Cemetery, 11005 U.S. Highway 301 N. Thonotosassa, FL 33592, Pastor Tucker-Johnson officiating. Repast to follow in typical Flip fashion- surrounded with fried fish, friends, and family at Trout Creek. RSVP (813) 453-8572 to attend.
Flip was born on October 30th, 1966, in Lake Wells, FL. He graduated from Leon High in Tallahassee, FL, and attended the United Electronic Institute on a full scholarship. It was there that he met the love of his life, Melony Angela Rose. Degree in hand, they married and filled their home with three beautiful children. In his spare time, Flip was a skilled Disc Jockey and Master Fisherman. His “jack of all trades” skill set landed him a position with Hillsborough County. After sharing 31 years with Trout Creek Park as a “Park Ranger II”, Flip was forced to medically retire due to a collision with a drunk driver. Flip’s retirement was spent enjoying his grandchildren, fishing buddies, and favorite shows. He cherished good company and life chats with those who knew him best.
Waiting at Heaven’s doorstep were his parents, Will Jackson and Alfredia Jackson-Davis; grandparents, James and Mamie Jackson, and Beatrice Johnson-Jackson; followed by his pup “T- Bone”.
He is survived by: his wife, Melony; sons, Raymond, and Philippi Jr. aka “PJ”; daughter, Renée; daughter-in-law, Shamika; grandkids Alexa, RJ, Alani, and Ryan; God kids, Airial and Eric Jackson; siblings, Zobra, Willie, Mamie, and Leroy; and stepsisters, Melita, Paula, and Twanda.
