Mr. Reeche Starks Obituary

God whispered softly in Reeche R. Starks ear and called him from labor into eternal rest on Saturday, October 18, 2025.  A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, November 1, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at St. John Progressive Missionary Baptist Church, 2504 Chipco Street, Tampa, FL 33605, with Reverend Dr. Bartholomew Banks, Pastor, Officiating.  Interment will follow in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery, 4615 E. Hanna Avenue, Tampa, FL 33610.         

Reeche R. Starks of Tampa, FL, was born on February 8, 1970, to the late Joe L. and Jessie D. Starks and Charlie Riggins Sr.  

He attended the public schools of Hillsborough County, graduating from Brandon High School, Class of 1988.  Afterward, he played football for Tennessee State University and earned an Associate’s degree from Hillsborough Community College. He was employed at Advent Health Hospital and part-time at The Westin Tampa Bay. Reeche was a member of St. John Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Dr. Bartholomew Banks. His pastime was spending time with his family and friends, traveling, watching sports, and his love for fashion.

He was preceded in death by:  his parents; maternal grandmother, Lula Bryant; paternal grandparents, Samuel Riggins and Emmie Hill, and Horace R. Starks and Frankie R. Starks; brother, Charlie Riggins Jr., nephew, Derrick Martin; 5 uncles and 3 aunts.

He leaves precious memories with: a loving and devoted daughter, Chenault  Z. Starks (Charly); 3 adorable grandchildren, Rhaland McFadden Jr., XzayDhen and Zyaire Estera; bonus children, TheoDior Fulton, Gerald Clark Jr., and Marcus Leggett; Godsons, Donta and DaVanta Walker and Anthony Pressley; siblings, Latracha and Randall Riggins; loving cousins/sisters and brother, Lawanna James, Ondria (John) Bryant and Anthony Q. Pressley; special nieces, Maquita and Shaquita Riggins; aunts, Liona M. Coates, Hazel Brown, Marion Gyden (Walter), and Valerie Buchanan; uncles, Felder Dessesseau Frances Starks and Jonice Starks; devoted best friend, Chino Nguyen; mother of his daughter, Xavia Starks-Fulton, and a host of other loving nieces, nephews, cousins,  family members and friends.

 

Visitation will be held on Friday, October 31, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Ray Williams Funeral Home, 301 N. Howard Avenue, Tampa, FL 33606.
