Mr. Ricky Alonzo Gallon

Mr. Ricky A. Gallon of Valrico, FL passed away on Friday January 10th, 2025. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, January 25, 2025, 10:00 AM at the Center for Manifestation, 3102 E. Lake Avenue, Tampa, FL 33610 with Reverand Leon Gallon, Officiating. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Memorial Cemetery, 4615 E. Hanna Avenue, Tampa, FL 33610. 

 Mr. Ricky Gallon was a native of Monticello, and a resident of Tampa for 50 years. He attended Jefferson High School, The University of Louisville, and the University of Tampa. He was employed as a Chief Partnership Officer at The Skills Center.

 Ricky Gallon earned a Bachelor of Arts at the University of Tampa after a successful basketball career in the NBA. He played for the Portland Trailblazers, Utah Jazz, Milwaukee Bucks, and more than a dozen international teams. While playing in Italy, Ricky met his wife Kim and would eventually move back to Tampa with his family. Upon his return, he worked extensively focusing on youth development for 30 years with the Boys and Girls Clubs of Tampa Bay. He finally achieved the position of Chief Partnership Officer at The Skills Center which offered him the opportunity to further his uplifting impact. Throughout his career he received countless awards and recognition such as his induction in the Sports Club of Tampa Hall of Fame, the Lifetime Achievement Award by the Sheriff's Department, and the Lightning Community Hero Legacy among others. 

Ricky will always be known for his huge efforts in helping his community, especially children and their families. Many will remember him as a gentle giant, not only for his stature, but also for the enormity of his kind heart."

He is preceded in death by: his mother, Mary Lyvonne Gallon; and brother Rodney Gallon.

He leaves to cherish his memory: his loving father, Robert Gallon; loving and devoted wife, Kim Gallon; son, Nikki Gallon (Rebekah); daughter, Zoe Gallon; brother, Russell Gallon; niece, Chelene Harris (Jonathan), and their children Jaiden and Jaielle Harris. 

A visitation will be held on Friday, January 24, 2025, at Ray Williams Funeral Home, 301 N. Howard Avenue, Tampa, FL 33606 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.
