Mr. Robert L. Twiggs Sr. of Brandon, FL, passed away on Thursday, October 16, 2025. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, November 1, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Ray Williams Memorial Chapel, 301 N. Howard Avenue, Tampa, FL 33606, with Elder Stanley Harris Sr., Officiating. Interment will take place at a later date at Florida National Cemetery, 6502 SW 102nd Avenue, Bushnell, FL 33513.
Mr. Robert L. Twiggs, Sr. was born on September 16, 1948, in Madison, FL, to Tebo A.C. Twiggs and Josie Twiggs. He resided in Tampa for over six decades. He attended Madison Schools, Hillsborough Community College, and Job Corps. He was a former member of Mt. Tabor Missionary Baptist Church and retired as a Sergeant from the United States Air Force in 1978. He was also a member of the NAACP, alongside Mr. Bob Gilder.
Robert was an avid fisherman and enjoyed playing pool. Robert also loved writing poems. He accepted Christ at a young age in Madison, Florida. His favorite scripture was the 23rd Psalm.
He was preceded in death by: his parents, Tebo A.C. and Josie Twiggs; sister, Lula Alexander; and brother, Nathaniel Burnett.
He leaves to cherish his memory: his sons, Robert L. Twiggs Jr., Elder Stanley Harris Sr. and wife, Belinda, and Troy Harris; daughter, Bridgette Lawrence; grandchildren, Darius Horton, Rebekah Twiggs, and Hannah Twiggs; brother, John Wyche; special devoted friend of 45 years, Ann Gordon who was by his side every day throughout his illness; good friends, William Johnson and Steve Brian Malcolm and a host of relatives, nieces, nephews, community members and friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 31, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Ray Williams Funeral Home, 301 N. Howard Avenue, Tampa, FL 33606.
