Mr. Robert N. Young of Tampa, FL, passed away on Friday, May 23, 2025. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, June 14, 2025, 11:00 a.m. at 34th Street Church of God, 3000 N. 34th Street, Tampa, FL 33605 with Bishop Thomas Scott, Senior Pastor, officiating.
Robert was a native of Harlem in the Manhattan Burrough of New York, NY, and a resident of Tampa for about 40 years. He attended St. Mark the Evangelist High School. He accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior early in life. He worked in various professions, including being a Direct Care Professional and a Production Associate with Breyers.
Robert is affectionately known to many as Bobby and Shake. His journey through life was marked by hard work and dedication. He was always striving to achieve goals and make a positive impact on those around him. Robert’s warmth and generosity were evident to all who knew him—traits that made him a cherished husband, father, family member, friend, and confidant. He was a lifelong supporter of the New York Knicks and Yankees. He will be remembered for his laughter, kindness, style, and unwavering love for family and friends.
Robert had three sons. His oldest is Noel Young (Mother Patricia Robinson); then later in life, he married Paula Langston-Young, and they had two sons, Nicholas and Justin Young. Family was always at the center of his world, and his devotion to his children was unwavering.
He is preceded in death by: his wife, Paula Langston-Young; parents, Justin Young and Francis (Wilkins) Young; niece, Deidre Young; and special uncle, Harry Arnold.
He leaves to cherish his memories: his sons, Noel, Nicholas, and Justin; his brother, Winston Young; many nephews and nieces; other family members; and friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, June 13, 2025, at Ray Williams Funeral Home, 301 N. Howard Ave., Tampa, FL 33606 from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.
