Mr. Roderick Wayne Thomas

Mr. Roderick Wayne Thomas of Tampa, Florida passed away on Monday, April 8, 2024. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, April 20, 2024, 11:00 a.m. at Ray Williams Memorial Chapel, 301 N. Howard Avenue, Tampa, FL 33606, with District Missionary Evangelist Mother Maureen K. Hayes, Officiating. 

Mr. Roderick W. Thomas affectionally known as “Wayne” was a native of Tampa Florida for 63 years. He attended and graduated from King High School. He was employed as an Expeditor at Palma Ceia Golf & Country Club for 34 years. He enjoyed sports, reading, photography, and mentoring his grandson.

He was preceded in death by: his daughter, Faith Thomas; stepfather, Robert Gaines; grandmothers, Sarah Collins and Mary Thomas; niece, Tiffany Kohn; father-in-law, Levi Jackson; mother-in-law, Angerline Jackson; and sister-in-law, LeVita Jenrette.

He leaves to cherish his memory: wife of 21 years, Sheila Jackson-Thomas, relationship totaling 37 years; children, Nyeilah Thomas and Curtisa Carswell; grandson, Da'Mar Kelly; mother, Flossie Simpson; sisters, JoAnn Kohn, Tammy Gaines, and Kimberly Gaines; step-brother, Derick Gaines; brother-in-law, Vincent Jackson; sister-in-laws, Yevette Govenor (Vincent), and Monica Jackson; uncles, Leroy Simmons, John Simmons Jr., Louis Simmons, and Clarence Simmons; nephews, Nicholas Kohn, Cameron Gaines, Micheal Jenrette Jr., Vincent Govenor Jr., Vincent Jackson II, Jonathan Govenor, and Levi Jackson; nieces, Kristian Kohn, Adriana Thompson, Angelena Jackson, LeRia Jenrette, Darian Jackson, Kennisha Keaton, Myekalya Jenrette, and Meia Keaton; and a host of cousins, other relatives, and many loving friends.
