Mr. Tarance Delento Lenoir of Tampa, FL passed away on Wednesday, September 3, 2025. A memorial service will be held on Friday, September 19, 2025, at 5:30 p.m. at Bible-Based Fellowship Church of Temple Terrace, Reverend Dr. Earl Mason, Pastor, 8718 N. 46th Street, Tampa, FL 33617, with Dr. Carl R. Curry as Officiant and Eulogist.
Mr. T. D. Lenoir burst into the scene on August 21, 1970, in Gainesville, Florida to Mr. Garry L. Lenoir and Mrs. Patricia Jackson Larry.
Education was embedded into Tarance’s DNA. Tarance graduated from Brandon High School in Tampa, Florida. He obtained his License in Cosmetology with the states of Florida and Maryland. He continued on to become a Licensed Massage Therapist with the state of Maryland, a Literacy Specialist in Albuquerque, New Mexico and an ESE Teacher in the Hillsborough County School District. Tarance earned a Bachelor of Science Education Degree at the University of South Florida, a Master of Arts Education Degree at the University of Mexico, and a Master of Arts Education Degree (Professional School Counselor) at the University of South Florida.
Tarance’s volunteer and community activism was unmeasurable. Tarance dedicated his time, knowledge, and expertise to many organizations: American School Counselor Association, Dudley’s Cosmetologist Instructor, Black Law Students Association, Hillsborough County Democratic Black Caucus, United States Department of Education, C. E. Mendez Foundation, Election Chair for Professional Student Association, Vice President for Minority Organization Students in Education, Hillsborough County Action Plan Committee, Vice President for Graduate Student Coalition for Diversity, Goodfellas Impact-Coalition Inc. Board President, Mayor’s Neighborhood University, and various other community organizations throughout Hillsborough County. He was also a member of International Masons & Eastern Star and Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity
Tarance was preceded in death by: his grandparents, Mr. Willie Steve Jackson Sr. and Mrs. Mattie Francis Allen Jackson and Mr. Roosevelt “Happy” Lenoir and Mrs. Nellie Gail Lenoir; aunts, Ethel Mae Helvenston, Ethel Mae Gambles, and Shirley Jean Jackson; and sister, Mrs. Sheletha C. Roberts
Surviving family, until we meet again keep me in your cherished memories: Loving and devoted mother, Patricia Jackson Larry (Jarvis Lee Larry); father, Garry L. Lenoir (Odell Lenoir); sister, Katina Shaw-Bryant (Ivery Bryant Jr.); brother, Fredrick Baker (Antuan Baker); brother, Gary Tumbling (4 children); brother-in-law, John Roberts (Charity Roberts); nephew, Kyle Downie; Great Nieces, Kamyah Downie, Kylie Downie, Khloe Downie, Kaliyah Downie, and Karlie Downie; and a large host of family, honorary family, and friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, September 19, 2025 from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at Bible Based Fellowship of Temple Terrace, 8718 N. 46th Street, Tampa, FL 33617.
