Mr. Thomas Walker Jr. Obituary

Mr. Thomas Walker, Jr., of Valrico, FL passed away on Monday, April 8, 2024.  Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, April 20, 2024, 11:00 a.m. at New Hope M. B. Church, 3005 E. Ellicott Street, Tampa, FL 33610 with Rev. Adrian Reid Sr., Officiating. Interment will follow in Garden of Memories Cemetery, 4207 E. Lake Avenue, Tampa, FL 33610.

Mr. Walker was a native of Tampa, Florida, and a resident of Tampa for 62 years. He attended the public schools of Hillsborough County, graduating in 1979 from Hillsborough High School.

He was employed for almost 35 years at Universal Products (formerly Robbins Lumber) from which he retired in 2019.

Thomas leaves to remember fond memories of him: his Wife of almost 40 years Vivian, Daughter,  Mara; Son, Martez; Grandson, Mario Jr.; Father-in-law,  Eddie (Dorine) Norman; Second Mother, Essie Coleman; Sisters, Linda Taylor-West, Willie Dell (John) Williams, Audrey Walker, and Shargaleen Walker; Brothers, Robert (Sharon) Walker,  Calvin Coleman Jr., John (Felecia) Daway, and Joshua Peterson; Brother-in-laws, Larry Coleman, and Cephas West; Sister-in-laws, Jerri Benson, Terrie Benson, and Mable Jean Benson; Aunts, Carriedale Burston, Dorothy Cherry, and Janice Clark; Uncles, Essie Walker, Wilhite Norman, and Willie Norman; Nieces, Princess Coleman, De’Aurdrea (Brian) Franczak, Shakira (Fanel) Duprevil, and Zerena Walker; Nephews, Taurin Coleman, Timothy Coleman, Marco Williams, DeAndre Long, Edward (Idielym) Williams, Rodney (Stephanie) Gravely, Joseph Bryant, and Zarius Walker; Goddaughters, Tynesia (Dwight) Henry, Nicolya Coleman, Joshala (Dennard) Johnson, and LaTia Hill; Godson, Christian Coleman; Second Sisters, Rev. S. Maria Bell-Coleman, and Michelle Coleman; Special Cousins, Mary (Matthew) Watkins, Theresa Cherry, James Cherry, Jr., Ronald Cherry, Darlina Adams, Minnie Kellogg, William (Mercedes) Chennault, Annjenet Killen, Barbara (Eugene) Jones, Janice (Terrell) Kirby, Jeanne (Jerry) Peterson, Lora (Sterlin) Woodard, Gisla (Bobby) Bush, Adriene James, and Donnie Stringfellow; a host of great nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, including - Kimberley Wedderburn, Janet (David) Bennett, Edna (Jon) Dixon, Precious Salmon, Ayanna Salmon, Tanya (Bronoris) Pye, Joyce (Willie) Hobdy, Joshua Peterson, Wanda (Michael) McBee, John (Bessie) Thompson, Valerie (Dean) Ennis, Sonya James, the Douglas, Levins, and Collins families, and the staff and patients of U. S. Renal Care (Brandon).

A visitation will be held on Friday, April 19, 2024, 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Ray Williams Funeral Home, 301 N. Howard Avenue, Tampa, FL 33606.
