Mr. Timothy Vann Knight

Timothy Vann Knight of Tampa, FL, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 6, 2026, surrounded by his loved ones.  Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, June 20, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Ray Williams Memorial Chapel, 301 N. Howard Avenue, Tampa, FL 33606, with Pastor James Leon Gallon, Officiating.  Interment to follow in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery, 4615 E. Hanna Avenue, Tampa, FL 33610.

Born on July 15, 1961, to Jacob M. Knight Jr. and Mary Malcom, he grew up in West Tampa. His home, located at 1554 Union Street, became a place where he fostered relationships and friendships.  He was widely known for his kind personality to everyone who knew him. His friends affectionately called him “Apple Head.” Timothy was a graduate of A. P. Leto Senior High School, “Go Falcons.”

Timothy later met and married Patty Freeman-Knight, his wife of 28 years. Timothy held many jobs until his health failed and made it impossible for him to continue working. 

“And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away” Revelation Chapter 21 Verse 4.

Timothy was preceded in death by: his father, Jacob M. Knight Jr.; mother, Mary Malcom; sister, Frances Simmons; brothers, Eric Knight, Byron Knight, and Gary Malcom; uncles, Willie Knight Sr. and Anthony Belliamy; aunt, Yolanda Beckham; and father-in-law, Johnny Freeman.

He leaves to cherish his loving memory: his wife, Patty Freeman-Knight; four sons, Demitrius Davis (Kelly), Lorenzo Knight, Bryon Pringle, and Timothy Knight Jr.; two daughters, Tiffany Williams and Tina Mosley, all of Tampa, FL; eighteen grandchildren; three brothers, Jacob M. Knight III of Columbus, GA, Mark Small (Laverne) of Savannah, GA, and Brian Malcom (Angela) of Tampa, FL; five sisters, Pamela Knight, Gail Knight-Upshaw (Eddie), and JaShonda Knight, all of Tampa, FL, Sebrina Knight-Brown, and Felicia Williams of Savannah, GA; one aunt, Patricia Belliamy of Tampa, FL; mother-in-law, Gloria Richardson of Tampa, FL; bonus mom, Maebell Knight; and Barbara Lee-Thomas; and a host of great-grandchildren; cousins; childhood friends, Ricky Bailey, Andrian Black, Herman Jackson, Marvin Knight and Yolanda Pyron; Godmother, Mattie Kelly (Curtis); Goddaughters, Courtney and Ragan Willis; sisters-in-law, Cassandra Campbell, Lisa Johnson, Johnise Freeman, Murrel Freeman, Yolanda (Jerry) Stevenson, and Nina Freeman;  brothers-in-law, Johnny Freeman, Jimmy Freeman, Jamel Freeman, Jacole Freeman, Freddy Freeman, and Antonio Sheppard; and  a special thanks to the Knight/Ealy, Kennan, Holmes, Bailey and Davis Families, Ray Williams Funeral Home, ORCC Community Center, Advent Hospital, Thomas and Veronica Loyd and St. John Progressive Missionary Baptist Church.

During this time of bereavement, we ask that the Knight family be kept in your prayers. May they be strengthened in their grief, comforted by love, and surrounded by peace that surpasses all understanding. May Our Father in Heaven Blessed you all!

Visitation will be held on Friday, June 19, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Ray Williams Funeral Home, 301 N. Howard Avenue, Tampa, FL 33606.
