Mr. Vernon Pryer

Mr. Vernon Pryer of New Jersey passed away on Friday, October 6, 2023. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 8, 2023, 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Ray Williams Funeral Home, 301 N. Howard Avenue, Tampa, FL 33606. A Graveside Service will follow, 12:30 p.m. at Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery, 4615 E. Hanna Avenue, Tampa, FL 33606.

Mr. Vernon Pryer was born August 30, 1957, in Jersey City, New Jersey to Mr. Ledmon C. Pryer and Lola D. Pryer.  He was a lifelong resident of Jersey City and was educated in the public schools of Hudson County and graduated from Lincoln High School.  Mr. Pryer was employed for over 40 years with the United States Postal Service as a Union Steward. 

He was preceded in death by: his parents, Ledmon C. Pryer and Lola D. Pryer; and brother, Leroy Baker.

Mr. Pryer was survived by: his daughter, LaSandra Pryer; sons, Vernon L. Pryer Jr., and Manson L. Pryer (Uilani); 8 grandchildren, Tremayne Dupree, Caleb Shepard, La’Nae Pryer, Elijah Pryer, and Aria Pryer; 1 great grandchild, Ja’ Riah Dupree; sister, Rosa M. Pryer; brother, Rober L. Pryer (Tammy); nieces, Larhonda Edwards, Katrina Winfield, LaTesha and Katrice Pryer; nephews, Darrin Streater and Keyshawn Pryer; 4 great nieces; 3 great nephews; 3 great great nephews; and a host of other family members and friends.
