Mr. Wilmon Walker of Tampa, FL passed away on Sunday, October 20, 2024. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, November 2, 2024, 2:00 p.m. at Mt. Tabor Missionary Baptist Church, 2606 W. Grace Street, Tampa, FL 33607 with Rev. William Cade, Officiating. Interment will follow in Myrtle Hill Cemetery, 4202 E. Lake Avenue, Tampa, FL 33610.
Wilmon Walker was a beloved, lifelong resident of Tampa, FL. He was born on July 26, 1927, as 1 of 7 children to Essie Smith and Charlie Walker. He was a faithful member of Mount Tabor Missionary Baptist Church, where he served as a Trustee and the Usher Board President. He also served on the Benevolence Committee, was the co-founder of the Golden Ministry, and was a dedicated servant in various other capacities. Wilmon retired from the City of Tampa and GTE Credit Union. Wilmon was a devoted husband to Lillie Walker for 65 years and a loving father to his children.
He is survived by: his wife; children; their spouses; and his sisters: Evelyn Daniels and Margaret Kelley. He will also be greatly missed by his grandchildren, nieces, nephews, their spouses, and their children.
A Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 31, 2024, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Ray Williams Funeral Home, 301 N. Howard Avenue, Tampa, FL 33606.
