Alma Robinson Solomon was born June 2, 1937, in Poulan, GA to the late Mr. and Mrs. Robinson. She was the youngest of six siblings. Alma grew up in a Christian home and attended Poulan Missionary Baptist Church where she was converted and baptized early. She attended services there and participated in many activities where she was guided and encouraged by her mother to serve the Lord. She met and married Jimmie Lee Solomon and they later moved to Tampa, Florida.
After moving to Tampa, as God would have it, Mother Solomon heard her calling and began witnessing to her calling. Through many trials and tribulations, she witnessed how God changed her life. Alma was an inspiration and encouragement to many people, young and old. For decades, she remained a devoted and dedicated member of the Apostolic Church of Jesus. She eventually became a licensed minister of the gospel and was later ordained as a Missionary. She served on numerous committees in the church while maintaining her role as one of the mothers of the Church. Even when her health declined, she continued to be actively involved in her church, always giving God the praise. She truly loved the Lord.
Mother Solomon was a devoted follower of Christ. She will be remembered by those who knew and loved her as a faithful servant of the Lord. She fought a good fight, and she will receive her crown in Glory. One of her favorite songs was, “His Eye Is on The Sparrow, and I know he watches over me!”
Alma was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Robinson; Sister, Maime L. Dassie; brothers, Cecil Pearson, William J. Pearson, William C. Robinson and Nig Pearson.
She leaves to cherish her memory: her eight children, Jimmie Solomon, Alexander Solomon (Cynthia), Joyce Simon, Dr. JoAnn Redden, David Solomon, Stanley Solomon, Curtis Solomon (Cheryl), and Frankie Solomon (Sue); 20 grandchildren, Charrod Solomon, Matthew Solomon, Theira Jones, Jery Solomon, Davonte Solomon, Jeremiah Solomon, Joy Solomon, Sakina Solomon, Lamarion Solomon, Tyesha Simmons, Stacy Herring, Dr. Tracy Redden, Antwon Woodson, Curtis Solomon Jr., Karreem Solomon, Kenisha Glover, Karla Solomon, Kalahei Solomon, Frankie Solomon Jr., and Fantasia Solomon; numerous great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and sorrowing friends.
A visitation will be held on Friday, January 3, 2025, at Ray Williams Funeral Home, 301 N. Howard Avenue, Tampa, FL 33606 from 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.
