Mrs. Althea Houston

A Homegoing Celebration for Mrs. Althea Lee Houston, who passed away on Sunday, May 14, 2023, will be held on Saturday, May 27th, 2023, 11:00 a.m. at Victory Temple Outreach Ministries, Inc., 5819 N 56th St. Tampa, FL 33610, with Pastor Dr. Laytecia McKinney, Officiating. MASK RECOMMENDED.

Althea was born in Camp LeJeune, North Carolina while her father served in the US Military. Her family moved to Florida when she was a young girl. She was a faithful Victory Temple Outreach Ministries member in Tampa, FL. She grew up in Wimauma, FL, attended the public schools in Hillsborough County, and graduated from East Bay Senior High School.

Althea was preceded in death by: her mother, Katherine Lee; guardian, Minnie Covin; sisters, Katherine Lee Sharp, and Brenda Lee Ivey; and bonus daughter, Phyllis Houston.

She leaves to cherish her fond memories: her loving and devoted husband, Curt Houston; father, John Lee Sr. (Vera) of Plant City, FL; daughter, Karneshia Kuwaye (Chad) of PA; son, DeCarlos Denson of TX; Bonus children, Curt "CJ" Houston, Jr., and Crystal Houston; grandchildren, Christopher Lee (Caitlyn), Chandler and Maximus Kuwaye, Jordyn, Brooklyn, and Cameron Denson; great grand, Ciara Lee; God-babies, Tykera Williams, Jovanni, and Jo'Lani Wallace; Sisters, Sandra Lee of Tampa, FL, Patricia Haasser (Tim) of Brandon, FL, Tracy Drayton of Philadelphia, PA, and Amy Hillery of Plant City, FL; brothers, John Lee Jr. (Sylvia) of Riverview, FL, and Craig and Brian Hillery of Plant City, FL; brothers-n[1]law, Alonzo Sharp of Ruskin, FL, and Donnell and Timothy Houston of Tampa, FL; Nieces, and Nephews, DeAndre Lee (Tamera), Cedric Lee Sr., Michael Ivey, Tyeshia Lee, and Alexandria Haasser; great nieces and nephews, Alohnna Lee, Sol Lee, Azara Lee, Cedric Lee Jr., Jalen Walton, Ja'Shaun Walton, Kenyon Booth, and Ken'tya Booth; Aunts and Uncles, Raymond Lee Sr. (Patricia), and Thomas Houston; 1st Cousin like a sister, Yolanda Lee-George (Lorenzo); Cousins like nieces and nephews, Johnna and Nijah Lee, Johntavia, Johnavia and John Wallace II; a special family friend, Laneshia Howard; and a host of other cousins, family members, and friends.

A visitation will be held on Friday, May 26, 2023, 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Ray Williams Memorial Chapel. MASK RECOMMENDED.
