Amy Lee Dixon was the oldest daughter of seven children born to Bishop Sam Sr. and Pernola Dixon on March 30, 1938, in Natchez, MS. She grew up working in the fields, driving her daddy's truck, and attending church every Sunday. After graduating high school, Amy played college basketball for a short time.
Amy met the love of her life, Albert, in Mississippi, and they married on March 31. They moved to Saginaw, MI, and together, they raised Debra Jones, Deardrea Jones, Bruce W.(Alice) Jones Sr., Nettie Jones, and Lorissa (Troy) Bridgewater. She would begin working and retire from Community Hospital Service. They would serve the Lord by joining St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church. Amy has dedicated herself to various capacities within the church, such as Youth Director, Adult Choir member, and Usher Board member.
Amy loved God and instilled this value in her family. She also loved to cook, read her bible, watch tennis and football, crochet, and travel with her sisters.
She is preceded in death by: her granddaughter, Nevaeh Stephens; eldest daughter, Debra Jones; husband, Albert Jones; brother, Sam Dixon Jr.; Henry Dixon; sister, Josie Moore; and Lois Brinkley, mother Pernola Dixon; and father, Bishop Sam Dixon Sr.
Amy Lee Jones leaves to cherish her memories with: her three sisters, Adine Moore, Rosie Dixon, and Christine Dixon. She also leaves to mourn her grandchildren, Bruce Achan( Diedra) Jones, Mark Allen Stephens Jr., Princess Stephens (Timothy), Bruce W. Jones Jr. (Vanessa), Candie (Jimmy) Green, Jasmine (Justin) Jackson, X'avier( Hadaya) Hunt, Dominique Jones, Precious Jones, Paris Jones, Latreece Mann, Troy Bridgewater Jr., Trayvon Bridgewater, and Toriana Bridgewater; 34 Great Grandchildren; 1 Great Great Grandchild, Milani Stephens; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends.
