Mrs. Anessa Melvina Duncan-Turner

Mrs. Anessa Duncan-Turner of Tampa, FL passed away on Saturday, December 28, 2024. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, January 11, 2025, 11:00 a.m. at Ray Williams Memorial Chapel, 301 N. Howard Avenue, Tampa, FL 33606 with Pastor Donald Lott, Officiator/Eulogist.

Anessa Duncan was born on January 31, 1938, in St. Vincent and the Grenadines (resident of Trinidad and Tobago. Anessa was a vibrant spirit known for her love of music, particularly Soca and reggae. She could often be found dancing and singing, bringing joy to gatherings, especially at Caribbean events like the Orlando Carnival each May. An avid fan of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Anessa embraced life with enthusiasm and passion. In her free time, she enjoyed the hustle and bustle of flea markets, spending her weekends selling from her van on Hillsborough Avenue. Her warm personality and love for community made her a cherished presence in the lives of many. Anessa is remembered for her zest for life, her love for music, and the joy she shared with everyone around her. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. 

Anessa is preceded in death by: her son, Sylford.

Anessa is survived by: her 7 children, Vilma, Joan, Owen, Mary, Cherylann, and Jeffrey Duncan; 27 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; 1 great great-great-grandchild; sons-in-law, Miguel Green, and Trevor King; daughters-in-law, Lesley and Sharon; step-son, Harold; close friend, Joseph; and many more dear friends. 

A visitation will be held on Saturday, January 11, 2025, at Ray Williams Funeral Home, 301 N. Howard Avenue, Tampa, FL 33606 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.
