Mrs. Barbara Jean Lowman of Tampa, Florida passed away on Thursday, August 3, 2023. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, August 19, 2023, 2:00 p.m. at Fortieth Street Baptist Church, 6020 N. 40th Street, Tampa, FL 33610 with Reverend Lonnie Gray Sr., Officiating. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery, 4615 E. Hanna Avenue, Tampa, Fl 33610
Mrs. Barbara Jean Lowman was born in Tampa, Florida on April 14, 1961, to the late Vivian Wilson and Grover Cusseaux. She was raised in West Tampa, FL and continued to reside in the Tampa Bay area until her permanent residency became within Heaven’s gates. She attended Hillsborough County public school systems and graduated from Plant High School in 1979.
Mrs. Lowman has always loved the Lord and was brought up in The First Baptist Church of West Tampa. She continued her love for the Lord and more recently attended Radiant church. When she didn’t have the ability to physically attend church, she continued to serve God by virtually watching televised ministries. Mrs. Barbara Jean Lowman’s work career consisted of 20 years with her being employed at The West Tampa Convention Center and 10 years at Walmart. Her leisure activities consisted of taking walks to the parks and malls; she enjoyed coordinating baby showers, taking care of her plants and was a cat lover. Mrs. Lowman was a faithful servant of the Lord and will be missed by many.
She was preceded in death by: her parents, Vivian Christine Wilson, and Grover Cusseaux; and brother, Calvin Emanuel Wilson.
She leaves to cherish life and precious memories: her children, Omawale Henderson, Nathaniel Lowman Jr., and Tamaka Lowman ; Granddaughters, Nijae Smith, Nikita Tatiana Lowman, and Ashayla Thompson; Grandsons, Isaac Wells, Gotavious Thompson, Nathaniel Lowman III, and Ashayla; Brothers, Willie Evans, Larry Wilson (Tomica), Lawrence Wilson, and Grover Cusseaux Jr.; Sisters, Zakiyyah Aquil, Vanessa Ransom, and Calvon Davis (Frankie); Nephews, Buye Aquil, Shaka Aquil, Teddrick Dampier(Tracy), Otis Dampier, Calvin Wilson Jr., Deonte Felton and Ander Guion; Nieces,Tavia Wilson, Akeesha Wilson, Nakita Bingham, Minqui Natiel, and Kashay Natiel ; and a host of great nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A visitation will be held Friday, August 18, 2023, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Ray Williams Funeral Home, 301 N. Howard Avenue, Tampa, FL 33606.
